So I just purchased two brand new 07-08 Base TL tail lights, I currently have 05 all red tails on right now.

My question is, are the led boards from my tail lights any different from those of the 07-08 base tails? The reason why I am asking is because since my tails are all red, the led board may be white, making it APPEAR red since the tail lamp is all red.



Since the base TL tails have white, those led boards are clearly red.



So would I need to get 07-08 base tail led boards?

You can save money by swapping the LEDs (solder is basically all you need) if its white.

O did i mention, they light up pink.. so its not red...lol..but i personally thikn the base look really good on WDP...

Same boards, that's how a few of the guys have done the tail-light clearing mod. The LEDs are red in both housings. Had they been white (a derivative of a blue LED) It would have a weird tint and diminished output. The red LEDs do a better job in both housings. I don't think there is any car in the market with white LEDs in the tails. They only use red or amber. The base TL's LED's look a lil pinkish because of a diffusor that has a whitish appearance.
