I'm not sure what year that was but MB E320 was the current design.

That car and I've been next to each other from a freeway exit. After going on local streets for 1~2 miles, less cars were on the road. I accelerated a little more because I was late on meeting my friends at golf range. Then, this E320 started accelerating too! (not sure if he wanted to race at this point or he just wanted to go faster to his destination as well). We were cruising around 45~50 then he took off first then I did the same thing.

I was using SS mode (sorry tranny) staying on 2nd~3rd gear going to 100~110 and pulled about a car length on him. I slowed down because of traffic and second time from stop (traffic light), it was same thing. I stayed about a car length ahead of E320 for the whole race.

Is E320 pretty fast? I would have been surpirsed if I beat E500 but E320? Also, I am not sure if i used all the power because I was a bit scared. There is a warrant out there for me since I forgot to pay a "fix" ticket for front license plate ticket.

 

i don't think a stock E320 will faster than our TL-S....a TL-P can beat it too....becuz i was playing a E320 too with that a little young driver....and i beat him right away...

let's say if a stock E320 vs a stock TL-P,its a driver race...

 

320? I say TLS,3G should own them.

My concern is those 430 engines. I think they will be about fast as 540i engine.
new 500 engines will be fast... I ain't gonna try on them exception of ML500.

 

My mom drives an 2005 E500 and when I drive it it certainly doesn't FEEL any faster because it's more of a luxury family sedan...

 

My dad drives one and its SLOW.

 

E320 definitely. in my old TLS bone stock i beat even SLK320 many many times.

 

My TL-P owned an E320 on an on-ramp not too long ago and it's totally stock.

 

E320's are not very fast a E430 would be good challenge for a tl-s or a modded tl-p.

 

CLK430/S430/E430 vs TLS/3G will be interesting game for sure.

Funny you talking about this.. I smoked a C320 Kompressor twice.... No probs.... But the E/S500s that might b a different story... There 5.0L 302HP V8s..... I would like to race 1 the right way.... One was next ot me but cars were in front of me... I think it would have been a GOOD race....

 

a C320 Kompressor??? or a C230 Kompressor??.....i don't think C320 come with Kompressor.....

 

yea and in the 2006+ models they dont even have a C230 kompressor, they only have a C230

 

It did... but it was known as the C32 AMG - and no stock TL, past or present and likely future, would stand a snowball's chance in hell against that 369hp V6.

 

Ram's turbo cls was pushing 419hp at the wheels.

 

I raced a E500 last week and beat him by 2-3 cars from a dead stop to about 70mph due to a red light and I had to make a right anyways. He stopped next to me and nodded his head up and down (guess he was impressed). Gave each other a thumbs up and left back to work. Oh he also had 20in Maya's

 

I agree that that particular car would definitely beat the C32 (however, probably not by much)... but what I said was:

 

Okay, here's what I've encountered:

-My sister has an '03 E320. That thing is slow as hell, even when you pin it. If you don't beat that car in a TL-S or 3rd gen, you should give your car keys to the nearest Acura dealer. They call that car the couch, because it's all show and it doesn't move.
-The 430 engines from the late 1990's-2002 Benzes are actually pretty quick - one of my friends has an '01 CLK430. That car runs 0-to-60 in about 6 flat. I've driven it and it's definitely faster than my TL-S. I raced him once with my TL-S and I was on his front fender the whole way.
-The E500 RWD will KILL a TL-S or 3rd generation TL that isn't modded extensively. My friend crushed me in his by about 2 car lengths, and I couldn't even keep up at any point. That car is just basically quicker - I don't know about the 4MATIC.

 

Exactly what I expected word by word. Try on 430, spare 320, don't try 500.
