03 maxima vs modded evo IX MR
Ran into one of the local evos last night while merging on the highway. All I am certain of for his mods are catback (and probably no cats, it was LOUD), intake, BOV. He was probably also tuned.
When we got on the highway, he was in front of me and hit it as soon as I had also made the turn onto the ramp. He pulled on me a little in 1st and by the top of 2nd gear, I was having to let off and get back in it to avoid his rear bumper. He let off at the bottom of the ramp then swung over to the fast lane and slowed down to wait for me.
He honked it off and we went from about a 45mph roll on the 2nd one. I got a half-car jump almost immediately while his turbo spooled, then continued to slowly walk away. By the time I shifted into 4th gear (around 100mph) I had 2 cars on him and was still pulling so I went ahead and shut down. He simply kept going and I didn't see him again afterwards.
I'm sure he was stunned to lose to a N/A fwd maxima in his mighty evo. He always revved at me when I saw him around town before... wonder what he will do now?

All motor
Nice kill! Evo's with any kind of breathing mods are usually very quick. They respond so well to mods (damn turbos) so you should be proud.
I bet he won't be revving on the highway anymore. He may want to run you from a dig tho.... lol. Then if he beats you, he will tell people about it and leave out the highway run
Good kill tho, that 3" exhaust and Y pipe definitely helped tho I think the outcome would've been similar with your previous setup.
There's an Evo around me with bolt ons, cams, and a tune. I wanna run him just for sh!ts and giggles.

Yeah I think it was about what I expected... I'd think he's around 250-270awhp with a few boltons and tune, then his car is a little heavier than mine.
I'd race him from a dig no problem... I'm pretty sure I can pull around 2.0-2.1s '60s on the street, the 2-step has helped a LOT. That's not as quick as an evo can pull but I'd probably hold him close enough to reel him back in.

I'm thinking now that maybe he just had boltons and no tune. It seems they can make upwards of 300whp after a full turbo back exhaust, proper intake, manual boost controller, and a tune. Either that, or he just had some sorry combination of the above and was leaving in some restriction.
