01 tl-p stock vs stock 02 accord v6
my friend inherited n 02 accord from his parent and wants to race me.... we are both stock and i just got my tl-p in July with 60k. who should win this race or should i do some mod before i race him. i figure stock vs stock even though his car weight less do i have an advantage with the tiptronic or just down shift from D3 to D4 or some....... this is my first TL and my first automatic. thanks any suggestion on how to shift will be greatly appreciated thanks

Perspective: I ran against some showoff in his then brand new 02 Altima 3.5SE (temp tags) while driving a 2000 TL-P rental that I had for few days. From a start, I had a nose on him pretty much from 0-90mph before I let off. (...although I am certain the Alti would be quicker after break in.) A 6G AV6 will NOT run anywhere near either cars without some major mods and barely breaks into the 15s.

I'm not sure shifting yourself would make much difference.
Along those same lines, does anyone else feel like their car starts performing differently just switching to sportshift? If I turn it on then switch back to auto it still feels like it is stuck in some kind of "high performance" mode.
I'm curious whether turning off VSA does any good or not.

that was my first kill in an automatic, it was fun. i have turned off the TCS when i was using the TT, was that a good idea. But i got another question for ya. will it make a difference if i buy a Vtec controller and let my Vtec kick it in a lil earlier? If so, which one ya recommend. because when i was using TT, i felt it around 4-5k and it redlined and fuel was cutting off.
i dont know wat a VSA is Cosmo
