well, not impossible but that would mean I'd have to give up my "bad motherfucker" wallet and that isn't happening anytime soon.

Sounds about right, I can get 32 pretty much all day, every day when driving in the 75-80 mpg range, my best was 36 mpg at 75 mph.

TL 6 speed as a first car?? that'd be awesome! i'd say go for it, it's a cheap price and sure beats getting into a civic or corolla IMO. it has some luxury comforts that are still up to par by today's standards, such as the heated seats, awesome stereo, etc.

forewarning though, these vehicles do require good upkeep and may be a little more advanced in DIY repairs compared to 4 bangers and such. if you dont mind V6 poor gas mileage and have decent pockets for upkeep, i'd say buy it!

I keep seeing these comments about "V6 poor gas mileage" and I just don't understand where they are coming from; I've had two cars with J-Series Honda engines in them and they were both capable of 26+ for daily driver duties and well over 30 mpg for highway work. We both drive about 15,000 miles per year and the annual cost difference in fuel between my wife's "fuel efficient" Mazda3 (which runs "regular" 87 AKI fuel) and my "gas hog" TL (which runs "premium" 93 AKI fuel) is about $350; not exactly huge financial burden.

low miles, good price, but automatic

But recently I just noticed that there is a 6MT TL for sale near me, it was a dealer car, with 138k miles, and he's asking about for $3500. I consider that as a good price for a 6MT.
However, today I called the dealer to ask for more info, and there are some problems:
1. Cracked Dash (Common issue, no big deal)
2. Check engine light sometimes on because of the #1 O2 sensor
3. No signal from OPDS, he said it's due to the disconnected line when changing the upholstery.
4. The passenger side door cannot be locked with remote, but only the key.
5. Some dents and scratches.
The pros:
1. 6MT, and no shuddering gears or clutch according to the seller
2. The LSD and better brake
3. Clean CarFax, no accidents
4. All other Pros of a TL

Here are some photos:

What do you guys think, is it worth buying. He said he'll let to to test drive it for 1 or even 2 hours.
Or maybe I should keep on searching for something newer for 6k or 7k, I really want a manual V6 sedan, there seems to be no other choice. Accord 6MT seems to be way overpriced.

Low miles, beautiful car, but I'm thinking at least two or three thousand dollars too expensive. Think about it, that car will most likely need all new hoses, belts and other rubber as well as a complete coolant and brake system flush along with new calipers at all four corners.

think about it.. My car has 100k miles and original hoses and still going strong.
Think about it man.. I have original calipers at 100k miles and all works great.
where are you going to find a reliable car, good looking, low miles for under 10k?
Have you really thought about it? You should know better by now.
New calipers at 50k miles? What are you smoking?

The point you're missing is lack of use makes rubber components age faster. Odds on bet the rubber on that car is at or near its useful life.

Two years ago I looked at an absolutely gorgeous 2006 with only 20,000 miles on it, all of the hoses were brittle, the tires all had dry-rot and cracking, and the two rear calipers were partially frozen and the front Brembos had at least one piston sticking on each side. I shuddered to think what the brake fluid looked like; probably sludge.

um, heat is far worse on rubber, than "non use". Besides, just do a physical inspection.. squeeze the hose with your hand during the inspection. Check for weak spots in the hoses.

I think you are just being argumentative because of history..

Look I get it, you don't like much of what I say, but the fact is, lack of use makes rubber components age faster; I don't give a rat's hind part whether you believe me or not; look that shit up.

Now where did I say buying a low mileage car was a bad idea? Personally I think it is a stellar idea. My comments were to suggest the car linked above is extremely over priced.

Regarding the 2006 with 20,000 miles I looked at two years ago, the owner had priced it it as if the car was virtually brand new and needed nothing. After looking at the car is was more than obvious it needed all belts, hoses, tires, brakes, and fluids replaced, so add another $2,500 to $3,000 to the price of the car. If the owner had lowered the price by that much i would have purchased it in a heart beat.

There are a lot of factors...rubber that sits and is dry will "dry" rot...I don't think hoses sitting and filled with fluid will have much of an issue.
I'm sure you could both find examples of failures and non failures to support your plights.

With that said...all you had to say is it's automatic! Hard Pass on this particular car.

I was curious about that so I reset the trip computer to see, and turns out I get around 27-28 mpg on a good day from point A to B with mild traffic. But 23-24 mpg if i leave it without resetting when driving back from point B to A. guess i was reading it wrong.
