$12/$15 Mobil 1 Rebates

Mods-Also posted this in Car Talk. Posted here because not a lot of folks hit up Car Talk.

Did a search and didn't see this posted, but it's been going on for over a month now. I totally missed it until our local Home of Economy add in Sunday's paper:

$12 rebate on 5qts / $15 rebate on 5qts + M1 EP filter. 2 rebates per household. 1 Mar - 31 May.

The catch is it's good only at participating retailers and I've never heard of most of them.

The good news is NAPA (and for you miltary, AAFES) is a participating retailer. O'reilly's is NOT participating, but they have M1 on sale for $4.99 through 26 Apr.

Go to a participating retailer and get them to price match O'reilly's, then mail in the rebate. You can get 10 qts of M1 for about $2.95/qt after tax and rebate.

Damn good deal!!

I posted this up on the CL side a little while ago to pass along the potential savings and it turned into a rather lively discussion.

I hope your thread has better luck!

Wally World isn't participating in the rebate and you can't get M1 0w40 at WallyWorld.

All these places are overpriced.

Advance Auto $25.99 for Mobil 1 Synthetic + Filter, almost all the time and $29.99 for EP Mobil 1 and Filter.

You're missing the point:

Use the power of price match at one of the participating retailers to get the additional $12/$15 off.

I've tried price matching before they won't do it.

Most auto parts store don't. Even if they price match they wouldn't include filter which makes the AAP deal still better because rebates = pain in the A*@

I went ahead and took the printed Oreillys add to my local NAPA and got the price match right away with no questions asked. I bought 10 of the full synth 5w30 qts with the mobil 1 filter and only paid $60.77 :-)

Now, i am a bit lazy so does anyone have the rebate form they can scan and post here? :-)

Maybe a little late, but I hope you bought the 10 qts on 2 separate receipts (at least that's the way I read the rules, since each rebate has to mailed separately and each rebate requires an original receipt).

I like that EP deal much better. For a few bucks more you get an actual synthetic instead of a mislabeled "fully synthetic" bottle.

Bump. Still good until 31 May.

For you military, AAFES price matched O'reilly's $4.99 deal and special ordered 10 qts of M1 0W40 for me, tax free.

So I got 10 qts of M1 0W40 for $2.59/qt! You can't hardly find DINO oil for that price.

My local NAPA store, the only one within about 50 mile radius, wouldn't price match the O'Reillys ad. The manager told me that it was too far below his cost. So I went to O'Reillys and stocked up. I thought it was still a good deal.

They will price match the oil at the price, but they will NOT price match a bundle deal. I already tried at several locations all over Texas.

AAP only charges 26.99 with Mobil 1 Filter which is still cheaper. Thanks for sharing the info though

How is it cheaper?

$24.95 (O'reilly's price) minus $12 rebate = $12.95

$12.95 plus $12.99 (AAP price for M1 filter)= $25.94.

Last time I took math, $25.94 was less than $26.99.

And where is this special for $26.99? All I see is a special for $32.99. You have a link?
