Driver's Side Mirror. Which is the Correct Fuse?
Driver's Side Mirror. Which is the Correct Fuse?
My 2016 RLX SH-AWD has a driver side mirror that keeps on making a whirring sound for a long time. It will move to the correct position, but it always sounds like it's trying to continue moving. It will eventually stop about 30 seconds after I fold it in, but never stops when it's out. The dealership says $2100+ to replace the whole assembly. I was thinking to just pull the fuse out with the mirror in the out position for now. However, by looking at the fuse box diagrams, I can't tell which is the correct fuse. I see lots of acronyms...I don't see anything saying Driver Side Mirror. Any of you guys know??
Same Problem - Driver’s Side Mirror Motor Drive Inoperative
I’m having same problem with my 2016 RLX-SH. The driver’s side sideview mirror motor will power on when the car starts, but the mirror will not rotate. So if I leave mirror deployed / extended, the mirror motor drive spins audibly until the mirror drive gear times out after about 20 seconds. (It might be timing out then the auto-lock feature locks the doors). When sitting still, if I push the button to retract the mirror, the motor spins but the mirror does not move. My mirror was not damaged … it just quit working suddenly after 8+ years and 82,000 miles. It’s really annoying.
I get the sense from my dealership that this is fairly common. They quoted me $2000+ to replace, but because we’ve been brand loyal our entire life, and because my extended AcuraCare warranty recently expired, the dealership is working with Acura to get me a more reasonable price. We’ll see how that works out. I understand the mirror includes a camera and is part of the AcuraSense system, but $2,000 is a lot. Heck, that’s a lot more than an iPhone.
My replacement side-view mirror had been on order now for a few weeks …. But it’s on back order. None available. Hmmmmmm …. Maybe this is a common failure? I’m going to keep the failed mirror assembly and disassemble it and see what I can figure out.
Does anyone know if the sideview mirrror comes painted or will the dealer need to paint it? If so I’ll probably have both painted at same time.

There's another thread somewhere on here with pictures of someone actually replacing the faulty part....it seems to be a tiny gear that you can buy for about a buck on a Chinese website. If I was feeling more ambitious and had lots of time, I might do that.
The mirrors do come in different colors, as you can see on www.acurapartswarehouse.com . I painted one of mine and it wasn't too painful. It was kind of fun actually.
