RLX Coupe rendering.

Timmie....I agree with Shotgun on this one. Normally, your work makes me drool but this one needs to go back on the drawing board. IN my opinion, the RLX is too big of a car to make into a coupe anyway. The rear window looks way too big and the car looks odd.
No offense I hope....You know that I am quick to applaud you for your work but this one isn't your best work. Don't be surprised if Acura steals it and actually make it happen cause everything nice people here do, they never listen. So you may see this prototype in the RLX's MMC (lol)

Glad you guys said it! I was in denial about all of that^.
I was contemplating on making the front over hang short and giving it RWD proportions to help but by then I had already done the back ground wasn't up to messing with it again. The front door also needs to be lengthened.
Who knows if we'll ever see it. I still feel that Acura used one of my earlier edits on the RLX on the SH-AWD Hybrid RLX. Maybe they will eventually take note on all of my ILX's....! But since the RLX is such a low volume car I doubt a coupe will come. Maybe for the TLX (CLX).

Honesty is the best policy so thank you all for the feed back!

BTW, I agree, Timmy18 you do beautiful work when it comes to rendering the RLX, the coupe version this time just didn't have "Timmy18" written on it - Keep up the good work...

The TLX may make a better coupe. Take a shot at that next week. That would be interesting.

The RLX wheelbase is just too long for a coupe, and the proportions of the car are thrown way off if you try to shorten the wheelbase. You can't really drop the roof enough for it to look right.
Besides, I cannot imagine spending the money that would be necessary to shorten the wheelbase.
The only way to get it to work would be to just eliminate the rear doors, and that doesn't really make a lot of sense having all that space back there that's so much harder to get into. And it would make the car substantially heavier, because I cannot see anyone spending the money to redesign the rear quarter and wing in any material other than the high strength steel that is already being used. The rear door is aluminum....not sure people realize that.
If you tried to put aluminum in place for the entire rear wing and entire section under the window, it would be over stressed. What they're doing now only works because the biggest pieces of aluminum are the front wings and the engine cover.
:-)
Another vote for TLX.

I really like what you did the rear quarter panel. Blending that feature line to front fender bulge makes, in my humble opinion, a huge difference in the appearance of this car. I am one of the few who like the RLX current design but I'd be over the top if Acura considered that for the MMC. Love to see a rendering of the 4 door with that quarter panel.

Three Wheelin'
you can close this thread now...the TLX is out...and it's hot. love seeing some of the design cues from the RLX in the new TLX. it basically has the same rear profile, just not as "big-daddy" as the RLX is.
