One of those random opportunities where I happened to have the entire top of a parking garage to myself, at the right time of day, with the perfect lighting
Pics from my recent drive down to Florida this weekend...
The RLX is a very strange car to photograph. I cant quite put my finger on it but at some angles it looks incredible, and others it just looks flat out awkward...

I don't agree with your belief that the car looks awkward in some angles. It's been my experience that the RLX tends to be very photogenic at any angle, and even the shots you took seem to support that.
All of us who drive this car have a nice, classy, and sophisticated piece of machinery. The critics complained, but no objective person could possibly look at any of these pics and not agree that the RLX can clearly hold its own in the executive luxury sedan market.
^ Thanks DASS. For me the "awkwardness" has mainly to do with the rear-end of the car. While I like certain aspects of it, overall I feel it's too "big". IMO it needs to be tapered down some and sleeker as to carry the rest of the sleek energy flow that's found throughout the rest of the body design. I've stated this before, as much as I love how the rear-lights light up with the LED's, the housing themselves during normal daylight are too big. It has more of an "American" car feel, than a sleek "APAC" car feel. Personally I think the MDX has better rear lighting design than the RLX. It's more refined, sleeker and sophisticated looking, where as the RLX has a little bit of a "dumpy" look to it at certain angles from the rear-end. It's only at night that the "awkardness" of the rear-end is masked by the darkness, and the rear-light LED's come out strong.
So in short: the rear portion of the car for me is the hardest part to photograph well.

I know you posted these beautiful pictures here so they are technically available to anyone without restrictions, but may I share them with a friend of mine who is a professional photographer? I'm sure he would appreciate the artistic qualities too.
I would like to know how you took these shots, with what type of camera, flash and tripod (I assume you used), as well as what types of settings (exposure, etc...). Simply marvelous. I wish I could do the same. Just not in my skill set. They look fantastic! Thank you!
@ RLX Sport-Hybrid - with my iPhone 6 Plus, in the palm of my hand. Nothing else. Very slight after-effect treatments (exposure, contrast, color intensity, but nothing more). It's all in the eye, placement, and knowing what too include in the shot. Like a pool player, it's not the stick, but the player And yes, you may share them.
@ George - I never said I didn't like how the car looked

Thank you. Quite remarkable shots. I figured you were going to say it was a Nikon D4 with a fancy lens and flash with umbrellas, etc... Tip of the hat to Apple for that! Oh and the photographer too.
A goal I have is to take better shots with unique angles. One day... Here is some shots I took with my GoPro a while ago in the Ferrari store on Park Avenue in NYC as well as a vertical shot of One World Trade all with the 12 MP cat eye setting.

nice shots. I really like the last one. The "cat eye" or "fish eye" lens effect can be tricky. I never like it on cars since it distorts the shape of the vehicle design, but it is a cool effect for shots like the last one you posted.
nice cars too, is that at a dealer or some showroom?
