Thumbs up China RLX pics

http://price.pcauto.com.cn/cars/imgl...8189-1-o1.html

The only changes appear to be additional lights in the lower grilles (probably fog lamps, since the upper lamps are turn signals), headlight washers, lack of a 19" wheel option, optional chrome side blades (ALA audi), and an "ACURA" badge on the trunk.

The amber reflectors are still there, which is surprising since all their other models got the clear corner treatment. Maybe it was too costly to re-tool the Jewel Eye headlight for a single market...then again, the 3G MDX got clear reflectors there too.

Don't forget to check out their RLX Concept pics too, which show a bit more detail than I remember from previous pics I've seen.

Just noticed their P-AWS emblem is missing a hyphen (-)...would love to understand the reasoning behind that one

The chrome slide blades are okay, wished they matched the paint (like the TSX). The 18" wheels provide smoother ride on those rough, communist roads.

Am I the only one picking up on the Chinese model pictures appearing to be our beloved SH-AWD model and those being the first time full body pics? the front appears to have those fog lights and the rear also has what appear to be exhaust openings?

Our SH-AWD model will have different fog lights and I doubt we'll see any exhaust openings for the next 6-7 years from Acura. :/

It's nice to see that Acura finally feels comfortable enough with their brand recognition in the US to ditch the "ACURA" logo on the trunk. I always felt like having both the "A" and the "ACURA" was kind of overkill.

I actually like the Chinese lower grill setup best of the 3 we've seen. The fog lights add a nice touch to base model style outer air ducts. I'm not a fan of the hybrid's dual slats and longer turn signal/fog light housing.

The pictures of the silver colored RLX are the original concept car. Those wheels.

This is definitely an SH-AWD model, the pictures clearly show it has the SH-AWD badge on it. It just looks like this will probably only be a Chinese-only model, so we won't see this specific body style in NA. My point was that this is probably the first set of real pictures we've seen up close of an SH-AWD model.

cheers!

Why can't the North American market also get this SH-AWD RLX as the base car, and let the whatever Hybrid AWD RLX as the yet-to-arrive top-end car ?

The silver car is not a Chinese market RLX. It is the RLX concept car. It is literally the exact same car. Just the concept, nothing more.

You're talking about the Silver RLX. That's the concept. Yes I see the SH-AWD badges, but I also see the wheels, and those are concept!

The Grey RLX is the RLX of the subject here. I believe the Hybrid was just shown for reference.

Te Silver RLX Concept is the same as our Champagne RLX Concept.

The Chines Production RLX shown (Grey) is NOT SH-AWD, it is PAWS. It has different details then our, and your own, RLX and our future Hybrid RLX, such as the fog lights.

There is no production RLX Hybrid's shown in this thread OTHER THAN the black and red one I posted.

All Chinese vehicles must have amber turn signals at the rear and none of these pictures show amber.

Those are some of the godawfulest-looking wheels ever created, and I'm so glad they didn't make it to production!

Question China Update

Long-wheelbase Acura TLX to debut at 2017 Shanghai auto show

So China is now getting a long-wheelbase TLX. Umm, is this not what the RLX is for? Then again, I think that the RLX is only available in SH-SH-AWD there but still ... ?

Also... notice the cross drilled rotors. Those aren't OEM, are they?

A long wheelbase TLX will be a lot cheaper to build than an RLX.

There's probably about 3 grand in savings just in suspension parts.

TLX will be produced in China soon, so there'll be substantial savings over the imported RLX going forward...
