Still no CAI available?

Had a 14 RLX and picking up a 16 tomorrow. Wanted a CAI on my 14 but wasn’t available. Is there still none available? Engine is the same as TLX, MDX, basically no? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

you dont want a pre-fab cold air intake anyway...they're not that great
you want a custom made 4 inch diameter intake.
you can make one out of pvc pipe, build it yourself kits, or aluminium piping.

I have a build it yourself kit, called the airaide.

Can I ask which one you purchased exactly? Have any pics? Sorry if there is a long post about this already.

it's the airaid build a kit.

choose the 4" diameter, and it will come with enough piping with all sorts of angles.. then you cut the plastic pipe to fit. it comes with a filter, I think.

you will need to buy silicone couplers and Clamps to join them to the throttle body.

Obviously this is for people who are interested in function over form as this WILL outperform the very popular AEM V2 cold air intake. I ordered a 4" 90 degree aluminum pipe, 3"-4" coupler, 4" clamps, and a 4" K&N filter. Parts should be here in a couple days and I'll post some pics and a small DIY if you guys are interested. Here is a pic from an accord over at v6.p forum to give an example:

Great thanks! I don’t care if it doesn’t add any HP, I like the sound. Had it on my RL’s and TL’s of past.

The reason I asked that question before was because on your first link that I clicked there were two options, thanks.

So has anyone actually done this on a RLX? I’m buying the kit and necessary parts this week. Should have it done by the following week.

Well I finally bought a Takeda CAI for a 2016 Acura TLX to see if I could make it work, It does...with a little work. All the connections work except for the bolt on. The extension that should be bolted to the car on a TLX is zip tied, whatever. There is another zip tie right there from the factory so I don’t care too much. It’s secure enough and honestly...I don’t care.

It sounds awesome when you floor it. When the VTEC hits at 5k it’s sounds absolutely wild. I love it. I don’t give a crap if I lost any horsepower. I did it for the sound. The factory tube literally feeds right into the filter so I don’t think it’s drawing in a bunch of hot air.

I will make a video tomorrow.

Thanks for the info love to make a some noise when driving a little aggressive. I wonder if we can use or install a J-pipe on these cars like I had on my 3G TL.
