RLX rear spolier

My RLX had the spoiler installed as part of the deal....but I noticed that the 3M tape in the middle does not stick well. I'm going to have to take it back in....i can feel it's sticky, but maybe there was too much wax on the vehicle or whatever, since the body was factory fresh......so, you might want to double check your middle part regularly. I can push it back in and it appears to stick for a few minutes, but then it will become loose again....argh!!!
ps. nice job installing yourself! I'm thinking of side moulding on mine.....does it look much better with it???

If that's the case, middle part of the spoiler will not be sticking well, and pops up...

Those holes are supposed to be drilled with a "rotabroach" sheet metal hold drill bit so that no jagged edges are created so that the retainer pop ins sealing ring seals out water. They are also supposed to be flush so that the retainer ribs grab the newly cut edge with enough interference expansion force to prevent creep of the stem insert from the back of the spoiler. Good luck at keeping this spoiler on tightly in extremes of heat and cold thermal expansion/contraction and keeping the metal from rusting due to minor movements that induce friction wear.
I cringed when I saw this. There's a reason for the very detailed instructions. And yes, the instructions cover using the isopropyl swabs to remove waxed and fouling before applying the 3m double sided tape to the trunk lid.

I had my '18 RLX SH spoiler installed at the dealer. Install was done incorrectly (the technician drilled holes out of spec and the spoiler was peeling off all over the place). The dealer fixed the issue by ordering a new spoiler once to try and eliminate the issue of a "bad part" I brought them which was an OEM part purchased at another Acura dealership... still had the same issue... final resolution was: they replaced the trunk-lid, new spoiler, painted all and all the work was done at the certified Acura Body Shop locally. It was a super expensive mistake, but have to say the dealer really came through...
The reason I went to a dealer? I read horror stories here on the forum where people had their spoiler installed incorrectly and where drilled holes were ruined, so wanted to avoid it, and still, the dealer managed to screw it up... but they fixed it... It is definitely something I would never want to do on my own
