RLX own cellular connection?

I got the new Acura Expressions magazine today.

It says that there is a new AcuraLink that will have push button access to a concierge, and lots of 'onstar gm' type features. they can send map data straigt to yoru gps too

It also says there real time traffice and rerouting. It mentions that the car has it's own mobile data connection? Is that true? if so that means Acura most have struck a deal a national wireless company in the USA and I hope Canada to provide cell data service to all it's vehicles. I wonder which carrier?

Does that mean I don't need an Iphone to enjoy the AHA radio and twitter updates? There are some many questions.

What are the compatable phones? what will work without a phone?

Most of my time was spent in Advance Package RLXs. Essentially, there are three packages available for the new AcuraLink system. The Standard Package is free for three years and includes traffic data, feature guides and quick tips, Bluetooth hands-free link, text message and email functions, maintenance minder, Pandora compatibility, XM radio, and aha.

As near as I can tell, the cars built in cellular connection is used for traffic data and the maintenance minder functions. However, the data intensive things like Aha and Pandora use your own data connection. Same for text message and email functions.

Moving to the Connect Package, you add additional features. These features include automatic collision notification, Live emergency assist, vehicle finder, remote door lock and unlock, security alarm notification, stolen vehicle locator, parking meter timer and alarm and expanded use of voice activated searching. The Premium Package adds a live mobile concierge to the deal.
