Wiper Blade Recommendations

After 63,000 miles and more than 3 years, I finally think it is time to change my wiper blades for the first time. So I could use some recommendations on replacements as well as how to set up the wipers into replacement mode so I can exchange them. Can I get some assistance?

I went to the acura dealership and got new blades for $22 and they put them on for free.

Rock Auto Wiper Blades

I love the Trico brand. If you go with Trico, go with the Teflon Shield ones as they will make the water bead on the glass.

I agree with dopeboy1, OEM are excellent.

Below are the instructions and part numbers you need for the drivers and passengers side, as well as the end-caps for them (you need 2 of each of the end-caps).

It is not mandatory to change the end-caps, but I would anyways......

I second the OEM recommendation. After several bad aftermarket blade experiences, I've come to realize that Honda/Acura blades are superior. You probably know this, but be sure to specify just the blade. Often they'll try to sell you the entire blade assembly (including hard parts), which are unnecessary unless they become damaged somehow.

Wink Just Did Mine

After 4 years & ~40,000 miles, my wipers started streaking and since I have to get an inspection this month, decided to get them replaced.

The dealership charged me $24 and changed them for free. However, the technician could not figure out how to get them into service mode so he just raised the hood and the work from underneath. He commented that he has yet to replace them on the RLX, which seems possible considering how little they sell.

The service dept said a set of new arms would have cost ~$100 so buying just the blades makes them about the same price as buying new arms from WalMart or AutoZone etc. I should note that in the past I would buy the cheaper arms from the store and they would only last like a year or 2 so the Acura brand (well, the packaging said "Honda") last quite a bit longer.

Does anyone know the correct P/N for rubber insert, 2018 RLX SH?
I bought a set of PIAA but they didn't fit, so looking at OEM
I found out that it should be 76622-TDK-J01 for Driver side, although some dealers have inventory they are marked as discontinued.
passenger side should be 76632-TY2-A03

I just got a set of PIAA wipers from TireRack and it looks like the driver side is indeed shorter than the Mitsuba wipers that came with the car.
I installed PIAA Ok, but wonder how will the driver side perform given it is 24" and not 26" which appears to be the OEM stock length of the driver side.

Anyone had the same issue? I'd really want to use PIAA (great experience on my RL before with their silicone series...).

I've used the Bosch ICON series with my 11 MDX and 08 RDX. I'm still on my OEM wipers for my 18 RLX and 19 MDX and they seem to be still A-OK. Anyone tried the Bosch ICON brand with the RLX?

I hope they fixed them - I used a pair on my 2005 Altima 3.5SE about 15 years ago and they were so crappy, had to replace them within 6 months...

Drying out from lack of rain, intense UV rays, and temps 90-110 degrees F are my issues with wipers blades. The Bosch ICONs seem to handle those kinds of conditions and do a pretty good job when I do need them on a freak downpour. I will probably switch to the ICONs when it time to replace them on my 18 RLX and 19 MDX.

I agree with the other posters....just change the rubber refills out w/ the OEM ones.

I effed up and tossed out my MDX OEM wiper blades and put in some Bosch.....regretted that ever since. Looked at the price of new wiper BLADES from OEM and was like WTF???? Lesson learned.

The refills are super easy on the RLX once you figure out the mode to get the wipers to extend out. I changed mine and once again, amazing wiping ability!
