I noticed the "download" button in the version screen on the top monitor. Does that download over the network connection, or does it expect a DVD/CD in the optical drive?

My RL had the DVD drive in the trunk. I think that newer RLs put the map data on the hard drive, but I've never seen anything about how to update them.

 

They use USB keys in the iPod connector now. :-)

 

There must be a ton of other self-diagnostic tools, if you know the right sequence/combination of buttons to push. Past TL and RL cars had on-board diagnostics for audio, climate control, cluster gauges, etc. If you can find the shop/repair manual for the RLX, I am sure these will be in there in every detail. So I guess the challenge is to find that shop/repair manual, preferably in searchable PDF format.

PS. I am not talking about the "owners manual". I am talking about the phone-book size (or two - lol) book!
