Video demonstration of RLX wiper maintenance mode

Because some had a question, I made a short video on how to use the wipers' Maintenance Mode on the RLX.

The purpose of Maintenance Mode is to a) change the wipers or b) pull the wipers away from the windshield to avoid them freezing to the windshield.

I searched through the entire manual and there is no specific mention of a Winter Mode for the RLX, as there was for the 2G RL. I found that I could move the wipers up a little, manually, but figure if there's no specific mention of it in the manual, that the feature was not designed into the wipers.

Anyhoo....

I'll make and post other little videos as I can think of topics of interest, or which capture my interest.

I agree. There is no "raise lower stop" function in the RLX, as there was in the RL. Thanks.

Why not just shut the car off with the wipers on when they hit the top of their arc?

Because the car will assume you've not intended to do anything unusual, and it will put the wipers in the low rest positions, out of reach.

:-)

If the wipers every stayed high just because somebody shut down the car, they'd get all kinds of complaints.

Is this true? My '06 RL didn't do that, and my '13 ZDX doesn't do that. I just wait till the wipers cycle to the top of the arc and shut off the car...they stop wherever they are.

You're saying the RLX continues to cycle even when the car is turned off?

Yes, one last cycle to home.

Apparently spray and mist are two different functions.
