Again you are correct. I had a text message pop up while enroute to a client office this morning. I must have misread the prompt which advises to use when not driving, and I simply needed to accept the prompt and the message was read to me. I was able to respond to the text with a canned message as well.

Coming up on 2 months with my SH RLX to report in....

Everything works.

Mileage is creeping up, now avg is 27.1, but I am still on my second tank of fuel. And,,,,I have developed a twitchy SPORT button finger.

I replaced the trunk light bulbs and vanity bulbs with LEDs...15 minut mod. I still need to replace the 4 door puddle light bulbs with LEDs. Hopefully over the Holiday weekend.

I washed and waxed ONCE, because it rains every freaking day!

I am loving the styling more each day. Once characteristic of this car similar to my RL, is that is grows on you and becomes more interesting over time. It feels like the car is learning me.

Lots of stares,,, quite contrary to the critics carping. At least 6 people have come to me or waited for me to ask about the car. NONE knew it was a hybrid. The few family and associates I gave a ride to were impressed, and when I did a SPORT drive, I managed to get a swear word from a church pastor.

My favorite story was getting a parking garage 'ticket' (warning) from a client garage security guard. I did not yet have the approved window sticker to park in the FEV parking spaces. The ticket said 'Acura LEGEND'.

I love the 'reverse snobbery' parking in the FEV spaces with the line of Prius. I had one woman scold me for parking in the wrong spaces.

I am still learning the new structure of voice commands. I did not realize how entrenched I had become with the RL VCs. I really need to leverage speed dialing with voice tags. More car idle time.

The car has many features I will likely never use. I have so little I would ask more from this car. A power trunk lid and external puddle lights. I will be watching for the wood trim steering wheels, should they make it with the heated feature (and a reasonable price). Hands down my favorite accessory is the 360 camera. Second is the ventilated seats.

Should this drive train prove to be reliable and durable (and I expect it will), I see this as another 10+ year car.

Prius owners are to the hybrid world, what BMW owners are to the sport sedan world.....to use a Jeremy Clarksonism, "cocks".

To demonstrate the mentality of some Prius drivers....

I had parked in the FEV spaces. Most were Prius, and a few other makes, mostly small vehicles. The RLX was standing out like Godzilla in Tokyo, EXCEPT for the Avalon hybrid further down the aisle.

When the woman scolded me 'THESE spaces are for hybrids!' I pointed to the Avalon (which was a hybrid), and she responded 'But that is a TOYOTA!'. I rolled my eyes and pointed to the hybrid badge badge on the RLX fender.

The only manner I can describe the dumbfounded look on her face was 'It does not compute'.

I have an appointment Friday to have Opti Coat Pro Plus applied to the car. Painted panels, plastic trim, wheels, glass, headlights, tail lights, grille, etc.

I was very pleased with the durability I had with Opti Guard on my RL and this is a new generation of the professional series of the product.

Yes, it is still raining. But I do not want to wait much longer and hopefully preserve the finish to a new as possible. The detail tech inspected the car (he was the 1st person who KNEW what an RLX Sport Hybrid was!)

He will have the car overnight and I will get it back on Saturday.

TampaRLX not sure if you ever found a trunk tray. My dealer could not find one for my 2016 RLX Sport Hybrid Advance package. I asked him to find one for a 2014 RLX Sport Hybrid Advance package. He pulled it right up and had it there within a couple of days. I just picked it up, it has the RLX logo and it fits perfectly.

Thanks for posting about the wood steering wheel. I was debating getting one as I liked the one in my 2009 RL. Hopefully they can fix the wood type and no heating issue. I agree that is a lot of money to loose a feature and have mismatched wood.

Thanks for that tip! Oddly my dealer had ordered the SH trunk mat before mine arrived, and it was not the right one for the SH trunk. Yet the part # and description indicated it was, so instead I got the carpet mat.

Sure enough I was able to find one for a 2014 SH RLX online. But since I already have the embroidered carpet mat, I will order this for the future and use when I anticipate messy cargo.

I have decided to wait on the wood steering wheel for a price reduction at minimum and hopes a heated one is offered at most. I never use the heated wheel, but I hate losing features at a cost premium.

Be cautious who orders accessories and parts as the Acura order pages are not always correct about differentiating the PAWS and SH models and the parts available to them. I still see wood shift knobs as an accessory to the SH and I have already spoken to the 2 / 4 door Illuminated door sills issues.

My detailer just sent me a pic of the car completed. Opti Coat Pro Plus is said to have higher gloss to the car, and from this pic it does appear so. I am anxious to pick up the car this morning. I will snap a few pics there before I drive it home.....in the rain!

I am very pleased. The gloss level is much higher. The depth of the clear now add much more luster to the Graphite Luster. It certainly is a better color to hide dirt and defects, but it was lacking in this level of finish.

I was fortunate that the rain cleared and roads dried enough to get it home and into the garage. But the clouds are again darkening and I have dinner plans.

What was the issue with the 2 / 4 door Illuminated door sills? I must have missed that, I am going to have the 4 door Illuminated door sills installed next week.

^^^

It may have changed / improved with the accessory pipeline filling, but when the 4 door door sills first were offered, the 4 door kit was only in black (ebony trim). There was an option to select color when ordering the 2 door kit.

There is still some discrepancy ordering as the parts catalog may show color options for the 4 door kit, but only show the 2 door parts in the schematic, yet the pricing appears to be the 4 door price.

Mine were ordered by my dealer before the car was actually delivered. When they arrived my tech called about the color and was told only black was being made for 4 door kits. Perhaps that has changed now. Fortunately they black sills are OK with the gray interior and grey exterior of my car, so I will live with it.

But as mentioned he also had ordered the SH Trunk Tray (by VIN #) and the PAWS Trunk Tray arrived.

Acura is sloppy with the accessory parts for this car. They still show a wood shift knob available to SH with push button selectors. My point is to be cautious when ordering and expect it may not be correct when it arrives.

Thank you for the tip. Since I have the ebony interior the color selection on the 4DR sills shouldn't be an issue. So far I think the all season floor mats are my favorite accessory. Mainly since they actually say RLX Hybrid, where as the regular floor mats just say RLX.

*ears perk up* que? My all season mats say just "RLX". New accessory?

Still looking for JDM Legend lighted doorsills, too. I'm now reaching out to my contacts in the S2000 world for help.

I've been watching those RLX models on eBay. They are simply not dropping in price, and I'd have to find a way to fab up some "hybrid" and "SH-AWD" stickers to mod it, so I haven't pulled the trigger. It's too bad, too, since I have a 1:18 diecast model of almost every personal car (not wifey's) I've bought in the last ten years, starting with my 3G TL.

Is it worth $160 shipped? For those who've bought it, are the detail and quality good enough to command that price? I can find a 20th anniversary silver NSX NA1 1:18 diecast for half that, and those models are much less common. Decisions, decisions.....I suspect the diecast collector in me will win out eventually.

It is the same quality of the RL model. The dash is pretty detailed even the dual touch screens. Price wise, only you can decide the value to you as a collector. I too have die cast models of my vehicles (though I kepth them when the vehicles were sold) and I consider them as part of the artifacts I collect for each vehicle (brochures, manuals, stickers, press articles, marketing and promo media, dealer posters, ect.)

I would have expected them to drop in price but I can see two factors as to why they have not. One being the low volume of the car, likely fewer units were made. The second being the Chinese economy in decline will keep prices up as I see several items I have purchased from China have gone up in price (including a new laptop keyboard, double in price from one I purchased 18 months ago).

PS: Thanks for reviving this thread. I re-read my experience this morning over coffee. Every bit remains true. The car has been flawless and just 6 months now. Still learning voice commands and pathways, loving the sophistication of the drive train and learning to sense the power and torque shifting. And LOVE the multiple personalities of the car allowing my mood and drive time to decide which car I want to drive. I use SPORT mode more then I expected, and LOVE to wind up the engine on a highway on ramp. That sound and throttle blip sounds so exotic to me. I have succumbed to this Siren's call.

I even emailed the seller to ask whether there will be a Sport Hybrid (even a Honda Legend version) made. We'll see if I get an answer to that. I may just buy this model, anyway. I, too, keep the models after I've sold the cars. As stated, I'm looking for a suitable NSX model already. I also collect brochures of the vintage of each car, purchasing them on eBay as necessary. I've tracked down a 1999 NSX brochure. $50 but that's probbly worth it even though my NSX is not the best collectible anymore, at 60k miles.

Keeping on topic...
It's good to see you are enjoying your Sport Hybrid. I am so jealous of your heated steering wheel (I REALLY could use that!), the working infotainment system, and the 360 degree cameras. I have enjoyed the driving experience in my car for over a year now, however, and I do not regret "firsties" for that reason. So much better than buying a more classy, maybe more luxurious, but more boring and common, not exciting to drive, E-series or 5-series.

Interesting you brought this up today. We just got some cool air here! It was in the mid 50's F today, rainy and raw. I just got home from the family Sunday gathering and dinner. When I got in the car, I felt the chill, so I popped on the seat warmer. Then I realized, 'Hey I got the heated steering wheel' and popped it on. WOW that get's toasty VERY fast. In your climate, I'd say this a 'Must Have'. And now I am more convinced losing this feature for the wood trimmed steering wheel is not a good idea.

I say we organize as a union of Sport Hybrid owners and demand that Acura provide us all free of charge with an exchange of the old ones, new "RLX Hybrid" all season floor mats. Who is with me????? At the very least we should petition Acura Client Relations.

That 'Hybrid' badge looks doctored to a standard RLX floormat.

And Bob, you need not RLX Hybrid mats, you need LEGEND mats, as the LEGEND only comes in Hybrid form.

And Bob, you need not RLX Hybrid mats, you need LEGEND mats, as the LEGEND only comes in Hybrid form.
I know. Unfortunately, there are no left-hand drive LEGEND mats yet. All I've found are right-hand drive mats. My plan is to buy some WeatherTech mats and order a nice dome sticker with an image of the LEGEND badge.

Still waiting to install my LEGEND doorsills, that Navtool device is being shipped later this month and I want to take apart my interior only twice (once to install, once to deinstall at the end of my lease).

Thanks Hawks. Nice to see the 'Dirty Old Man' visit the forum again. The RL forum was a close knit group. Some of us still here, some at Audi and Cadillac. Some scattered in the wind.

Yes it was, and as mentioned in another thread, as much as I love my V, still do miss my old RL.

Looks like you're loving the new RLX. Enjoy.

Does anyone know how we can get the LEGEND floor mats from the Philippine model, since its a left-hand drive......
Also the LEGEND with MUGEN accessories looks pretty nice....

Honda OEM Parts

There are two dealerships in the Philippines certified in offering OEM Honda Accessories.

The Official Website of Honda Cars Greenhills, Inc.

The second does not have a website. The above dealership's website has links to accessory pages, but they are not working. However, the email contact to the Parts Manager is there (Joseph) if you wish to solicit a purchase.

My experience in the past is it is rare to find a vendor willing to deal with the customs / export issues. But may be worth a try with a sincere email.

Actually I already emailed Joseph.

I inquired about:

1) LEGEND floor mats
2) LEGEND illuminated door sills
3) LEGEND trunk tray and carpet mat

I will see what he says and report back.

No response yet from Joseph. I may try calling the dealership in Manila.

*sigh* They don't want to be bothered with the customs issues. However, I have a friend in Manila who owes me a few favors. Might be time to play that card.

OK, so you made me curious, Tampa. I looked at the price for the Sport Hybrid in the Philipines. It costs PSP 4,380,000. One dollar is 47.95 pesos today. That makes the Sport Hybrid US$91,000 in the Philipines. Suddenly, I feel like I got a "bargain".
