Things I LIKE about my RLX
I think all of us will be very interested in your reaction to the RLX and how you view it in comparison to the LS. The usual competition for the LS hybrid would be the Porsche Panamera h, the BMW Active Hybrid, the Audi A8 tdi or the Tesla. The reviewers have not been kind to the LSh - no milegae improvement, slower than the gas verision yet quite a bit more $$$. How the RLX stands up to a car almost twice as expensive will be very interesting. From the reviews, it seems like you will find the handling and acceleration differences dramatic. Not necessarily better or worse but probably different.
I hope dealer is getting you an Advance to try out. It will probably provide you with a better comparison.

My LS600h is 0-60 5.5.
I have two VERY uphill highway onramps, so power is important. But as you guys saw, passing power is more important (torque).
SO I imagine the RLXh is similar speed to what I am used to.
You have to realize the LS6 is a long wheel base, with full air suspension. So even though it isn't "faster" than LS460, those are short wheel bases, and much ligther cars.
My shopping list (I am still a few months away from it-waiting on next bonus check):
1) RLXh
2) Alpina B7 LWB (CPO)
3) Range Rover Signature edition.
As I said, my shopping list is all over the place. For me a LWB is a must.
I don't care for the regular 7. I love the Audi TDi A8L, but I prefer the S8, which doesn't come in long wheel base model.
The new S class is fantastic, but its too new (thus outside of budget).
I will post my thoughts next week. Can't stand the ugly Panamera.
Tesla definitely is something I considered. Range is an issue for me to the lake house. Since I have a Lotus, few of my friends upgraded to Tesla Raodster and now Sedan, so I have been in them. Fantastic driving, especially the new P85D.
But what I like about the B7, RLXh, My current 600, they are albeit rare even in LA.
Teslas are more common than Toyota Corollas here.
This car will see about 3500 miles a year. More for an adult occasional romp.
^^
Your seacoast looks whiter than my interior it is very nice.
Dealer said the RLXh they have coming in, that will be available for a test drive, is "fully loaded with all options." I am not sure what that means per the things you guys mentioned above, but I will confirm in person.

You may not yet understand the "hybird part" correctly. If you mean the gas mileage, most of the beta testers would agree -- gas mileage is not the reason to buy this car. Your CT is a better bet for mileage. But to think that mileage is the only feature of the hybrid system is to miss its best advantages. The electric motors do at least two great things in this car. First they provide instant response and quite an acceleration pop. It really surprised me that a combined 77 hp would make a huge difference in the power of the car but trust me it does. The second big advantage is the torque vectoring they provide. They provide the driver the best cornering ability I have had in a large lux sedan. If you like the Lexus drive experience you will find this both similar and different. The Sport Hybrid has a dual personality.....a very comfortable cruiser down the freeway. Probably somewhat similar to your LS [although I haven't driven one in years]. The same car that cruises down the freeway in silent comfort can provide a sport car like drive by simply pushing down the gas pedal. IF you truly want to feel like you are on the track merely push the Sport button and be prepared to even more acceleration and fun driving. The best thing about this car is the implementation of the seamless way all of the switching between electric and gas takes place with the "power drive unit" making the smoothest, quietest transitions you can image. When you think hybrid, don't think Prius, think NSX and you will understand Acura's idea of what hybrid means.
Thanks, it definitely is a bit lighter in person than what you see on the Acura.com website pics. For example:

This picture looks closer to the the Acura "parchment" color on the MDX, TLX, ILX, etc. I personally like the lighter color of Seacoast. It literally is like the off-white color you see in sand on Florida west-coast beaches. It gives the interior of the car a very light, airy and open feeling, which is another aspect I love about the RLX interior

HATE the parchment. That is what my CT one had. I prefer the seacoast.
For me interior should be black, white (seacost) or red. None of these beige/parchment BS, unless I am driving a Jag, or have an exclusive AARP membership
Is it me or hte above pic the center part of the steering wheel look like very cheap plastic?

If you want to appreciate your RLX, drive something else. Yesterday, I had a TLX V6 loaner for several hours during the headlight replacement so I tested it in various situations.
My conclusion is that it is a good car, very powerful and great mileage. Tight inside. ( might be a mother-in -law repellent.) The passenger seat was uncomfortable - seems to have less leg room than the driver's side.
Driver #2 drove it and declared that it was Ok -the same as her TL. No interest in the hi tech stuff.
When i got my RLX back at the end of the day, I felt that I was in a whole different level of vehicle. I hope Acura keeps making them !

Something that isn't clear from the picture you posted is that the steering wheel is solid ebony, while the dashboard cover is that grayish taupe color.
Some people will view that as a "clash" instead of a "complement."
The biggest thing for me was finding out that Seacoast does not get indigo transfer or otherwise get very dirty very quickly.
i will add the wonderful big pouf of vapour that you leave behind in the winter when you pass. also, unlike the 2014 MDX or the 2012 tl when the car is in sport and you hold the right paddle shifter for couple of seconds it will go back to D from whatever gear you previously shifted to. the other Acuras i mentioned would not. also truly amazing is how fast is the gear changes. the fastest i have experienced. it will put my wife's e class coupe and my brother in law's CLS AMG (both 2014) to shame.
I've had my RLX for about nine months now and, reading through this thread, it seems like all the things I like about my car have already been mentioned. The most striking feature for me is the iconic Jewel Eye headlights. Whatever else, good or bad, that can be said about this car the headlights are truly unique. Yet what I enjoy most about it is that I don't see many of them. I've seen exactly one outside of a dealership since I bought mine. Perhaps that means the car doesn't sell well but that's okay with me. I still turn around to sneak a peak at it when I park and my only regret is that I didn't hold out for the Hybrid. Eh...maybe next year, we'll see.

Get on if you can. It will be the best decision you make in a very long time. Your RLX and the RLX-SH are two completely different animals (driving experience). Caution: Don't test drive it unless you are prepared to buy it. You won't want to get back in your car afterwards. I promise. It is that good.

I was just thinking about this last week as the temps were regularly subzero (F), and finally remembered to post about it.
No matter how cold the start, the 7DCT of the Sport Hybrid shifts smoothly and FAST. This was the case even after starting it on that -17 F day almost two weeks ago. I started up the car and other than a minor growl on starting out for the first time, the transmission was quiet and shifted as quickly as when it was warmed up. Most ATs at least make some noise or shift harder or clunkier when cold. This DCT does not.
This transmission generally works so well I don't have to really think about its function at all.
