Squeaky Windshield Wipers

Any recommendations on how to resolve squeaky windshield wipers? It only makes noise in one direction and with a very light mist precipitation event. In moderate rain or more it is silent. Any ideas on how to resolve it. The wipers are relatively new. I thank you in advance for your counsel.

Did you or the dealer replace them? Did they squeak before replacement? Just some things to think about. Try cleaning the blades thoroughly.

Clean windshield thoroughly, especially in the area causing the squeak. Also the wipers as suggested.

All good ideas. I installed the Rainex Ice replacement wipers which other than the noise issues, are great choices. I cleaned the windshield extra well, even used a razor blade to get any little burs off, then cleaned the wiper blades (which turned out to be very dirty), and finally then reapplied a fresh coat of rainex and it seems to be resolved. It is going to rain a lot over the next many days, so we will see if it was successful.

If you drive fast enough, you don't need the wipers.

After all of that, it still squeaks. Thoughts?

There are those who clay bar the windshield. Griot's has a "special" windshield clay bar they sell, but I'm not convinced it's any different than the one used on the paint.

It's not a solution I've personally tried though.

Go back to OEM. I’ve never had luck in the past with after-market wipers and will never use them again.

I just get replacement inserts when needed and have never had issues.
