squeak in the front suspension RLX Sport Hybrid

Gents:

I heard a slight squeak in the front end last night and dropped it off at the dealer this morning to check it out. They are replacing the rubber bushing-isolator that is between the spring and the top housing under warranty. It is part number 51686TY2A01.

In the meantime I am driving a TLX SH-AWD V6 and the suspension is supple and quiet. Relative to the Sport Hybrid it is a dog, but more than reasonable for a daily driver. I think if I were not an SH owner I would be impressed with the TLX. The Blackbird will fly again tomorrow!

I meant "squeak". Damn typo.

Good morning sir! I think my squeak was as a result of hitting a sizable pothole yesterday that was unavoidable. One of those OUCH moments. Maybe it was unrelated, but either way it is no problem.

My wife's '15 TLX V6 Adv was $13K less than my '14 RLX Adv yet I don't feel a $13K difference between the two cars. The TLX V6 is a fine automobile.

I can appreciate what you are saying. It seems that the TLX with the deeper sidewall tires makes for a much smother ride. I prefer the sporty feel of the SH though, but again if I never experienced the RLX SH and was only comparing the last gen RL to the current TLX, I would have likely been attracted to the TLX even if they were at a similar price point. I also discovered that I was initially driving in eco mode which drastically changes the performance of the car for mileage purposes (dog comment). Sport + was fun, but keeping it in Normal mode is what I'm doing this morning.

Got the Blackbird back and the front suspension is perfect! Replacing the rubber inserts at the top of the front struts, and replacing the sway bar bushings made all the difference. It is vault quiet now. So if you have any noise at all in the front suspension, get those things replaced under warranty and your issues will be resolved.

Thanks for asking. Everything has been spot on ever since this repair was performed. Other than the navi being slow to respond sometimes which is not that big a deal, the car is a true joy to drive. The 2nd and 3rd gear roll on in sport mode is freaking funny how much it makes me smile every time.

Had the squeak in the front right yesterday and today it was gone. Definitely sounded like a dry bushing.
