I just received a 5" x 8" envelope from Acura containing a full color, single piece of cardboard about "Innovation". In the fine print it talks about the RLX as Acura's new flagship vehicle, and then says "Soon, it will be available in a Sport Hybrid SH-AWD model...". Seriously?

Further proof that Acura's marketing of their supposedly RLX Flagship is a big fat mess.

Acura's marketing on the RLX sometimes seems as bad as my Cleveland Browns this season.

At least Acura sent me a 1st anniversary card for my lease in the last week. They can't be all bad.

Yes, I got one of those 1st anniversary cards last week, just days before this mailing announcing that (my) RLX SH-AWD would be out real soon! WTF? Are these mailings from the same company?

 

I love getting mailers for the car I already own (RDX in this case).

Super duper marketing and sales people go where the money is. Unfortunately the money isn't at Acura right now. Kia, Hyundai and Mercedes are magnets for the extremely talented marketing and sales people these days, simply because there is tons of money there. For Acura to fix their marketing issues they need to attract top marketing talent and for that to happen they should throw tons of money at it, which I doubt.

PS. I get f*k all in the mail up here in Canada. Actually I don't think I even got the latest Acura magazine. Did they stop mailing those out too?
