I've decided to remain with Acura and jumped back in the fold with another 2020 RLX Hybrid... There's nothing out there that can beat this car for the price and package. Waiting to take delivery today. Than return my current lease. Gonna be hard to say goodbye to "Frosty". Black on Black this time... pictures to come

Looking up a couple posts in this thread, this sounds a lot like moose66's old car!

Bought it from Carvana and had a week-long test drive at first. Was nervous about all the gadgetry and whether it would have the normal Honda reliability, but reading the posts here and putting 400 miles on it made me more relaxed. Plus there's still almost a year of the bumper-to-bumper warranty. Oh, and did I mention that it's pretty fast?

Yep. It used to be my girl as the O'Jays sang. Never had any issues with it. No wrecks, no warning lights, no weird smells as you reported. That all must have cropped up once Carvana took ownership. From my perspective, just normal wear and tear on a 4 year old car. The car wasn't driven too much or too hard. I travel a lot for business and drive the pick-up to and from the airport. The RLX was/is the weekend and weekend getaway ride.

I was going to PM you once you got settled and made your decision to keep her. Great car. I paid way too much it when I bought it new with about 200 miles on the odometer. It had been sitting at the lot for a while, but the dealership wouldn't budge. I had been looking at another car an Acura dealership in Fayetteville, NC and that deal fell through because they had advertised a vehicle that did not exist. Turns out it was the mgrs car. I wanted no parts of it. Ended up in Chapel Hill, NC and it was love at first sight. I was coming out of an 2013 Lexus GS450h. Loved the tech and the space of the RLX which was a huge improvement over the Lexus. Once I got the car, the only changes I made were to add the mud guards and the optional wheels. Otherwise, she is stock. Hopefully you'll enjoy her just as much as I did. She's missed, but I am loving my 2019!

Thanks a lot for all the info! I saw your post on here saying that you had re-upped to a newer model, so I figured that it must have been a pretty good car for you. I had it checked out at a Honda dealership here and the mechanic said the car was in great shape. (Nearest Acura dealership didn't want to do a pre-sale inspection....weird).

The warning light appears to have been a one-time thing. Maybe the battery was pretty low after the cross-country transport and me mucking around with the stereo too long while in Accessory mode. The smells I was worried about were probably just a case of me being hyper-sensitive before closing the deal.

I had a really slow commute this morning (average speed 20 MPH for one hour), but I got my highest gas mileage so far, 28 MPG for the trip.

The song that was playing when I turned on FM radio during my first test drive.

You got a great ride. I wasn't even looking to get rid of it. I just happened to stumble on a deal on the '19 I couldn't refuse. Carvana made the sale easy. They made me a decent offer and picked the car up at the dealership where I bought the new one with check in hand. Simple process. Hopefully you'll enjoy it just as much as I did for years to come.

We test drove a TLX A-Spec in Apex blue and the wife like the looks, power, and handling. Then we drove a CPO 19 RLX right afterwards and she fell in love with the RLX in 10 seconds from behind the wheel. I get to wash it and put gas in the RLX now.

When I knew my wife was getting closer to move out of her '12 TL SH-AWD, I'd request a TLX A-Spec loaner when I had service done so she could drive it an use it as a likely next car for her. She never really liked the TLX in any trim level - she felt it was a "dumbed down" TL (performance, fit-finish, rear seat room, etc). But the RLX was always a bridge too far in terms of cost. When I saw this CPO pop up I had them hold it and brought her down to drive it - and we walked away making a deal. She still longs for the sportiness of the TL from time to time, but is pretty happy with her new ride, that she named Daisy.... ;-)

It was Used, not CPO because dealer didn't want to add extra cost. I could have got it CPO for extra $2K which is not worth it to me. Previous owner only put 4100 miles on it. Looks and drive like a brand new car.

No CPO. It was not purchased at an Acura dealership. It was sitting at a Dodge shop and they didn't know what to do with it. So I gladly took if off their hands. Didn't need to pay an extra 2K for CPO from Acura for a practically brand new car with only 6K on the odometer.

You can always get Acura Care warranty before your manufacturer's 4yr warranty expires.
That is what I did for our TL (fwd) - got it as lease return 3yr old w 42k miles for 21k back in 2016 and added Acura Care 5yr/100k warrant for about 1300-1400 I don't remember now.

I drive very little as I work from home. I average only about 3-4K miles per year. And I usually keep my cars only 3-5 years so probably not advantageous for me to buy AcuraCare.
So for that extra $1300-$1400 you get just one extra year of warranty? I wouldn't mind paying about $2K for 7 yrs warranty. Does AcuraCare have such a plan? And I assume extended warranty starts after 48 months/50KMiles?

2018 SH-AWD with 32k miles 1 previous owner. Had to drive from NJ to PA to get it. I wanted blue - a bunch of white available on the used market. Outside is immaculate but the steering wheel and seats are dirty. I know what my side project will be this upcoming week.

Congrats on the new ride! Blue or red was next to impossible to find when I was looking back in fall of 2019. The ones I did find were either too much or too many miles. Now would be the time to look for anything like rear spoiler, spare tire kit, or slash guards before they are gone forever.

Congrats on the new ride!

I always liked that color combo and it can be hard to find with other Acuras. There were ZERO white/ebony RLX hybrids when I was looking back in the fall of 2019. Any other mods planned? Spare tire kit, rear spoiler, GROM, PPF, or ceramic coating?

At the moment for starters, I am thinking spare tire kit for sure, mud guards I think (still need to check pictures how those look like), GROM I will hold off on because I rarely use navi anyway, PPF not for right now - rather ceramic coating but will see what I can find locally and at a good price (Northern Chicagoland).

Here's some pictures of my white with mud guards. I highly recommend them. They finish off the look IMO. I like the trunk spoiler too.
Your car is over 2 yrs old, very likely paint not in perfect condition. You may have to do some paint correction before ceramic coating or PPF. I'd not waste money on PPF if you already have some rock chips.

You can add ceramic coating on top off PPF; but, you can't add PPF on ceramic coating. PPF like XPEL Ultimate has hydrophobic properties like ceramic coating, self healing with scratches in the sun, UV protection (paint and LEDs), and +10 year warranty. You will still need to do the exact same color correction for PPF or ceramic coating. PPF will give you a longer time of protection without the rigorous cleaning routine with ceramic coating (2 bucket method, microfiber, ceramic booster soaps, foam cannon).

YUP, highly recommend PPF if you drive alot and your paint is already near perfect. With my PPF cars, I simply do foam cannon and then rinse. Follow by air dry with leaf blower. Then lightly wipe down left over water spots with MF towel. Very easy maintenance washes, takes all about 1hr per car. Once per month if the car is really dirty, then I'll do 2-buckets wash method follow with some TW Seal & Shine.

Ceramic coating will provide same oleophobic coating as PPF, it just doesn't last as long and of course provide zero protection from rock chips and scratches.

I agree - I was planning to do paint correction than a ceramic coating, still looking for a good detail shop to take care of it in my area. Car does have some imperfections and very light scuffs etc. so paint correction is a must + ceramic coating
Thank you for adding pictures of the mudguards, and the spoiler as well - I think I am sold on spoiler now ...

The paint is not perfect, but no chips in the hood. I do not drive a lot (working remote 100%) so PPF I would agree, unlikely needed.
