RLX eats MKZ alive

when was the last time you have seen a car compared to the RLX in a review?

"Unfortunately, the competition includes equal or better driving front-drive biased cars—the Acura RLX would eat the MKZ alive on a road course—as well as some quite serious rear-drive cars from Cadillac and Infiniti. And we haven’t yet begun to account for the Germans, who absolutely know how to sell you a $50,000 car."

I repeat. Dan Neil is an ass.

His journalistic style is to taint any journalistic value with his small minded values. He even admits it in this article with his despise for Lincoln. Then he trashes the brand and the car. What a big man he is. And what a gnat of a journalist....

I do not care if he shares a positive view of the RLX just to trash the MKZ. He has proven his viewpoint and journalistic product are cohabitating in his rectum.

LMAO!

But this guy seems to talk out of both sides of his mouth. He bashes on Lincoln and the MKZ but then says how its sales were up 72% but then seems to think they should not have fired Mr Wolff.

Unfortunately his conclusion is that Ford management is holding back Lincoln much like many have argued that Honda is holding back Acura. Maybe some of the recent management changes might help but that will take years to materialize.

".... Anyway, the position of director of Lincoln Design is a thankless job and a hopeless task, because the bosses and the board of Ford Motor Co. have made it so. As much as Ford would like a piece of the premium luxury market and the margins it commands, the leadership—President and Chief Executive Alan Mulally and his deputy Mark Fields, by name—won’t spend the money it would take to turn Lincoln brand into a serious luxury contender, a near-peer with Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW. I am sure they would love to, but ROI is just not there.

That is not bad management. It is just management."

Ford IS holding Lincoln back, and honestly it's in a worse position than Acura, even with a sales increase.

In any case, why compare the RLX against MKS? RLX is a mid-lux cruiser and MKS is entry level. Hardly a fitting comparison.

The motor industry gossip is that after dumping all the advertising money they've put into Lincoln this year, if they didn't get a big sales increase out of it they were going to relegate Lincoln to a brand of Ford instead of its own brand.

I don't know if the kinds of increases they've got so far this year is enough to stop them.
