Well I have been in the Acura family for a long time...Minus the brief stint for 4 years driving my Subaru Legacy 2.5gt Wagon(worst engine/tubo ever!)...Anyway I had bought an 05 Acura TL back in 2013 and have loved the car even with the dead transmission I ended up replacing. Last friday I decided to look around at some new cars since my 05 was coming up on 180k miles and it was starting to smell like oil a lot the past week. I was eyeing a 2015-2017 model TLX to replace my TL but most of the ones I was coming up with were 4 cylinders which I wasn't too happy about. Anyway in the midst of looking at TLX models I remembered that Acura had a big boat car the RL or at this point RLX. My budget was maxed at about 23k so I went looking online and found a beautiful Silver Tech Package RLX. It was sad to see the TL go but after a very short drive of the RLX I instantly fell in love with it. Ill be honest I wish I would have done more research and looked for an Advanced package but i'll settle for what awesome features I have right now.
Anyway enough talking your ears off with my life story. Here she is 2016 Acura RLX 32k mile bought for 22k out the door...pretty sure I got this for a steal no matter what anyone says! Hope to see you all around and hope to help out with mods or DIY stuff down the road. As of right now I'm just super happy
Enjoy your new RLX Tech. This is a lot of car for $22k. As you found out the resale value on these is ridiculous. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the car - it has so much to offer. Just so you are aware, the drivetrain warranty is for 7 yrs so you have a few years coverage still. Was this certified by Acura?
Congrats on the RLX! I've noticed you have to jump on an used RLX you like when they pop up because it can be months and several states over before you find another one. I can count the number of RLXs I've seen since I purchased my used RLX in Dec/19 on one hand (counting the time I purchased in Sacramento and drove through Reno/Las Vegas to get home in Albuquerque).
