I agree. But the TLX certainly seems to have instantly appealed to younger people, a very good sign for future sales.

^ Boy that's a really unflattering angle for the RLX!

If you look at the rear of the car from the side, you can't help wondering about the protruding boot lid that almost, but not quite makes some kind of deck lid spoiler.

Looking at that protrusion from various angles is what caused me to decide that the rear of the car was complicated enough without adding the accessory deck lid spoiler.

I am still of the opinion that one of the weakest rear styling cue is that chrome piece around the rear deflectors....To me, that cheapens the car. Its almost as if they wanted to created the look of the integrated dual exhaust tip but rather than being the exhaust pipes, they stuck a red reflector in it.

Put better wheels, get rid of that rear chrome deflector and I think the RLX would be much much better. I have seen the car in the flesh and I feel it looks very nice and love the interior. It wouldn't take much for Acura to clean it up....

Japanese design team. What can you do.

I think we gravitate more naturally toward the TLX, a car designed by Americans and for Americans.

^^ I can see your point but look at the original TSX....the 2006-2008 model was amazing and to this day, it has aged so well and it still look gorgeous. The 2004-2006 was a little bland with the front fascia....it looked better when they integrated the fog lights.

That reflector treatment IS a little unusual. And there's little doubt they intended them to be faux exhaust openings.

What puzzles me a little is why they didn't just go ahead and make them exhaust openings instead of tucking the exhaust pipes in under the bumper. I have a theory that it has something to do with the DI ... all the DI cars I've had deposited some soot at the exhaust tips, so maybe Acura is trying to avoid that by sticking them back where it won't show.

But visually, it makes the rear end look less blank, and most people won't even realize they're not exhaust tips.

Now I can't stop looking at them.

I think you are right about hiding them because of soot

I think color makes a big difference as to how the reflectors look on the car. I had planned to put a light tint sticker on the chrome and the red if I had purchased a Dark colored body vehicle..Am still undecided if I like the chrome/red reflectors on the Gilded Pewter, but I'm leaning towards leaving the reflectors alone on this body color.

I think it's more the lighting and the color. To me, this car really pops in the darker colors, crystal black pearl or graphite luster metallic. That's personally what I'd purchase.

yup, me too. CBP or GLM are the two colors that make the RLX hot. I love my CBP and all the chrome accents work very well. I can definitely see with the other colors where it looks sorta cheap.

I will say the white color is also pretty nice. I saw one the other day on the road. Thought it looked great.

^^ I agree with the white

I live in a very small community and I saw my first RLX on the road and I nearly broke my neck doing a double take. It was in the evening and quite dark but the Jewel eyes really stood out and it looked amazing!

It really is in the eye of the beholder.

You want sporty with verve, you drive the costly beauty I have attached:

However, if you want a car with good looks, that is fast, fun and safe to drive, you drive the TL as Mike’s missus does.

My preference is for comfort, performance, handling and elegance. That in my opinion sums up the RLX.
