Oil change
yes.
if you wish.
if you can afford.
so, if you have the extra money and want to use ultra premium oil even tho regular oil will keep the engine running for a long time, then go right ahead.
nothing is stopping you other than your pocketbook
in 10-15 years, if you tear down the engine of two identical cars; one that was serviced with ultra premium synthetic oil and the other with a common synthetic blend, what you'll find is exactly the same.. given that the two vehicles were always maintained on time...you will find the valve cover spotless. you will find no sludge in either of the two engines.

Guesss its always the same old question and the same answer. I also beleive if you can afford an RLX, you can afford just about anything for it in quality.
Let's not start the debate about which synthetic is the best, this has been going on for years and I think a matter of almost preference.

That'as also my intention. Since the maintenance is included with mine, I could just give the dealer the 'gallon' of synthetic to pour that in instead of his or even ask the price for their synthetic (extra $ to none...)
I beleive in Canada Acura is using Petro- Canada synthetic but could be wrong. I am using Amsoil in my Sprinter RV, could be the way to go, I trust them.

I always purchase my oil local or on-line to take to the dealership. The dealership might charge you an "up-change" for full syn oil with your maint contract. Might come out the same as bringing your own oil. Not that much of a cost of around $22-$23 for a jug of oil 1-2 times a year.

I just went with the straight dealer synthetic oil change and rotate tires about every 9,000 miles on my old RLXs for $59 a pop, but I drove almost exclusively highway miles for long distances (150mi/day minimum). I'll probably step it up every 7,500 (and pay a bit more attention to the maintenance schedule) or so in the Hybrid since I'll be driving less and it is more complicated internally, well, at least this first change I will.
