New road trip report, pics
Currently in DC for a conference. Drove the Sport Hybrid there for some beta tester fun instead of driving the V.
I love the HUD. As we know, it displays instructions from the navi. You can even see the countdown in miles/fractions of a mile on the HUD.
OH turnpike.

When no turn instructions, the HUD remains the same as always.
Example: PA Turnpike.

The PA Turnpike, I-76, around Pittsburgh is my second favorite Interstate highway for testing vehicle dynamics because of all the high speed turns and sweepers. I put the eSH-AWD to the test there and it did not fail. I was able to keep full speed going through the turns. Made for a fun drive. My favorite Interstate highway for testing vehicle dynamics, by the way, is I-77 through the mountains of West Virginia. I want to experience it with the Sport Hybrid. With those steep turns, the Sport Hybrid will certainly come into its own.
Best freeway mileage I've ever gotten was in the Allegheny Mountains near Pittsburgh, despite constant mileage of 76 mph and frequent ascent and descents. Trip mileage to DC was 29.7 overall. If I'd held at 70 mpg I would have been well over 30 mpg for the whole trip.

Lookee at what I found as I was on US 30 entering Breezewood, PA?

....but was it a SH or a PAWS? Closeup says...PAWS. At least they shared the same nice CBP.

Will be leaving DC for Cleveland in another 36 hours. Hopefully the tank of Exxon I took on shortly after arriving in DC will be as good as the tank of Shell that got me here.
PS, I confirmed the issue in which the navi scrolls very fast forward when one is just browsing by moving the jogwheel. That is annoying as hell, and I hope Acura gets us a software update post haste.

That is the Power Distribution Monitor that tells you which wheels are being driven, which are in regeneration, and which electric motor is being charged.
In that picture, the Monitor says that the J35 is driving the front wheels and charging the front electric motor.

Beautiful pics. thanks for sharing. At least you don't have to go our AAP and NeoCon
I used to love driving from St Louis to Boston, western PA were my favorite roads, smooth, sweeper, high speed.
NJ Turnpike was the worst.

You don't need to do that very often, but when you do need to do it, it is important and shouldn't require that much fiddling.
There's a few Sport Hybrid in the DMV, you know.

I really hate that. It makes the NAV nearly useless if you are trying to find an alternate nearby route while travelling. But I do love my car, despite this.

From that angle and size, the graphic looks a lot like one of the alien guys you shoot in Galaga.
I can say from experience that, in person, the graphic is very clear and it is kind of cool to watch the Hybrid SHAWD system do it's thing. You can watch and feel the torque vectoring at the same time.

As I was heading home tonight a very nice gentleman all of about 20 years old in WRX-STI was behind me on the highway as I was crusing at 70 mph in the center lane. I casually moved to the passing lane and gently moved up to about 75 mph to pass slower traffic when I noticed the STI driver was now on my tail so close that I could not see his headlights at all. I did not like that one bit, and punched it. I very quickly hit 110mph and then moved over. Now I heard him gun it too with the intent to follow, but I opened up so much space so quickly I heard him back off after a couple of seconds. After slowing back to a reasonable speed again I exited the highway. The kid pulled up next to me at the light at the end of the ramp, and signaled to put my window down, where he asked how I accelerated so fast. He asked what the hell kind of car it was. He said he could not keep up. Interesting... The old dude may be grizzly, but sly.

His eyes probably popped out at the mere mention of electricity in the propulsion mix.
LOL at the mention of the 24-hour clock. a1) Air Force brat who a2) spent half of pre-college life in Europe and b) until the advent of EMR in my practice, my medical documentation was always timed by the 24-hour clock to avoid confusion. Now the EMR states AM and PM, which just doesn't feel right to me.

When they asked if I'd make any change at all to the HUD, I suggested that some kinds of drivers might be too fascinated by having the Power Distribution Display in the HUD.
It's an interesting thing to be able to access while you are learning how the car works, but I was worried that people would be looking at that when they should be thinking about what is on the road. When you're driving hard in closer situations, the PDD in the HUD is a little busy.
I doubt that my opinion about that will be very popular
Try not to kill me.

As you can see, I like it, too. On the move, it's iseful to know which wheels are powered and I don't find the display that busy. Posting from rest stop, awaiting spouse.

So - analog or digital watch?
Because the SH has such "responsive" throttle response, to try to look at the HUD while driving aggressively in the turns would be insane. In the moment one would look at the HUD you would be into a tree in no time. I glance at it when I look at my speed. I wish the navigation screen and all of its data was projected onto the glass like the HUD but in a secondary location where the center speaker is located. That would be revolutionary and no other car has that yet. Acura are you listening??????? Also I wish we had a configurable main gauge cluster like the C7 Corvette, Caddy CTS and Lexus RC-F. I think the Lexus LFA had one too, and maybe others but I can't think of them.
I also like to watch the PDD in the HUD. In addition to the reasons already referenced I think it helps if you want to see if you can approach the MPG that you get. My daily commute involves long stretches of flat roads with a speed limit of 45. Often if I feather the throttle I can get into EV mode between 45-55 MPH.
I guess it kind of addictive. It is too bad that only I can see the HUD and not any passengers.

A) beta testing the Sport Hybrid.
B) destination hotel was valet only. I would come close to physically hurting someone if a valet hurt my V.
C) just had the paint corrected two weeks ago.
A few quick OBM wagon pics after paint correction

Thanks! With that car, the color is part of the enjoyment of the car. What an awesome blue. I wish Acura made the RLX in Long Beach Blue Pearl, like on the NSX, or Laguna Blue like on the S2000.
I'd trade immediately upon availability. Or just wrap my current car.
I plan to get the Sport Hybrid into similar shape by getting the scratches out, hopefully soon. Depends on how busy work it.
