New Accessory for 2018 RLX !
So, I went to the NYIAS (New York International Auto Show) this week, and checked out all the Acuras
The new Acura MDX A-Spec was locked and the new 2019 Acura RDXs were also locked. Which was a bummer
In the Acura brochure from the Auto Show, I noticed a new Accessory for the 2018 RLX
It's called: Logo Pattern Projector
On the Acura website, the Description says: Upon opening your vehicle's door, our Logo Pattern Projector illuminates the ground for added visibility
And the caption under the picture says: LED lights project the RLX logo
I think this is a cool accessory. I wonder if this accessory would work on a 2016 RLX. Also it would be cooler if it was an "Acura" Logo instead of the RLX logo

Local Kijiji/Craigslist listings in my area have people selling these plug and play projectors with the Acura logo for $40 - so I think this is a common mod for those who are interested.

Amazon
I have seen these for a while now on Amazon:
I have been tempted but not sure if it might overkill.
I like the Amazon 1 better than Acura's bc it has the logo plus the name written in various colors for only $35. Acura wants $175 and then I am guessing installation/labor fees. I wonder how easy these things are to install ... ?

Three Wheelin'
It looks like the projector bulbs simply replace the puddle lights. There is a thread about changing the puddle lights to LED bulbs complete with pictures and the process would be the same. My experience is that it was very easy - a 5 minute job but you do have to crawl around and lay on your back under the door to do it.

Here's the link to the LED bulb thread:
https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...ements-935280/
Looking at the amazon link again, the replacement is a bit trickier than the LED bulb replacement because you do replace the entire bulb housing and you run into the problem with the very limited extra wire for the connector as discussed in the thread above. Might I recommend a pair of needlenose "Vise Grip" pliers (if you have some) to lock onto the connector while you are working thus preventing it from falling back into the door.
Good luck.

I was actually able to pull out the assembly and swap out the bulbs by "feel" while sitting in the driver's seat with the door open. Once you see the pictures you know what to do. You do have to take care about the short wire falling back into the door.
