Hybrid Modes

I posted this in the MDX forum, but I think there are only a few Hybrid owners there
Wonder what your RLX Hybriders have seen

Hybrid modes - was trying to list all the variations I have seen

LR only Positive Torque

RR only Positive Torque

LR and RR only both Positive Torque

LR Positive Torque RR Brake and vice versa

All above variations with ICE Positive Torque and Front EV charge

Ice Positive and Front EV charge with no LR/RR

ICE Positive, Front EV Positive, LR and RR Positive

I’ve recently seen one mode that I had not seen before

ICE Positive, Front EV positive, but no LR/RR

I'm not sure if I have seen this one, but I could imagine it being possible in an aggressive acceleration in a curve (too busy driving than looking at the display in this situation)
ICE Positive, Front EV Positive, LR Brake and RR Positive (or vice versa on the Rears)

I’ve seen the following variations in Turning Left or Right

Below ~60, the outside Rear is usually Positive and Inside Rear usually brakes. Sometimes only one Rear is engaged

Above 60 on a more sweeping curve, I see opposite behavior on the Rear wheels. Inside Rear can be Positive and Outside can brake. Typically it is only Positive on the Inside Rear

Not sure I have covered all the braking scenarios

Hell.

The damned thing just goes. Fast.

:-)

I don't know how the MDX is programmed, but the KC2 allows for quite a bit of oversteer, and requires smoothness from the driver in order to avoid car computer panic.

Let me be clear, the MDX Sport Hybrid is faster than anyone really "needs", but it is fun to plant the kids in their seats from a light on occasion. The RLX Sport Hybrid is more so. Surprising the 20 something in a Mustang is even more than that. It is fun to be the geezer with the grey hair act like a teen who stole the car from their parents on a Friday night. Sure there are faster cars out there, but these vehicles are more than quick enough to get us in trouble. Just enjoy it and be careful.

So since I may be one of the very few who have both the MDX and RLX hybrids, I can speak more to their differences. The MDX hybrid is definitely programmed to be smoother than the RLX hybrid. It is slower to react to very small throttle applications and applies more dual rear thrust more often on many curvy roads, more so than the RLX hybrid. What I mean is it is providing the same or nearly the same rear thrust to each wheel, where in the same situation in the RLX hybrid, it would show green inside and blue outside thrust patterns at different intensities. Also under full throttle, they behave differently to each other.
