Fuel Pump Motor Stop Sale

I just received a letter from Acura stating that my 2018 RLX SH is not included in the recall after a letter earlier this this year stating it was.
This recall covers all cars 2014-2020 and now they omit 2018 from the recall.
Strange, you would think that Acura will do a better analysis before sending he first recall letter.
anyone else received that letter?

I did and I trust that they have looked at this completely. I'm not worried about my fuel pump.

You put too much faith in Acura - I wouldn't

I did get a letter for my 19 MDX Adv Sport Hybrid; but, no letter (yet) for my 18 RLX Sport Hybrid. I did double-check with my Acura service advisor and both vehicles are on their list for fuel pump replacement. The service advisor was thinking sometime during the summer for parts being available.

2020 RLX advance. No letter. at 105K plus miles and no issues. I am assuming (and hope) Acura has concluded there is no issue with the fuel pump

We just called Acura to make appointments for recalls on our 18 MDX and 18 RLX sport hybrid. Fuel pump parts are not available yet. The MDX has a connecting rod bearing recall also. Parts are available but, the first available appointment is 12/27/2024.

I'd check other dealers. Local dealers in the northeast have a much shorter lead-up time for the Rod Bearing recall. Once dealers get into the groove of doing them, they go more quickly since most simply need the bearings replaced after the inspection. Had mine done a couple of months ago.

I just got back from my local dealer (where we've bought/leased for 34 years) from my "annual" RLX oil change. I asked the service mgr and dealer leadership about the lead time for the Rod Bearing recalls. They have a fairly sizable service department, and are dedicating 2 techs to work solely on the recall. They're doing 2 vehicles per day, and for the most part, have only been bearing replacements. They said the lead time to get scheduled is about 4-5 weeks (at least for vehicles they know have sold or previously serviced). Wasn't sure if that applies to out-of-area Acuras. Anyway, they speculated that smaller service departments - or those with limited techs - could be backed up much longer - but a December date (to them) sounded pretty long....

I also asked about the fuel pump recall, and they still don't have a clear timeline for when parts will come in for the general recall. They've observed no vehicles with fuel pump failures related to what the recall addresses. Interesting.

I got the same letter saying my ‘18 wasn’t affected by the recall.
