Recall
IF you google this Honda recall, it does say that this recall is applicable to the 2018 Acura RDX which is gen 2.. This appears to be the only gen 2 that it is applicable. Does not indicate that is is applicable to any of the pre 2018 RDX's. If compare the part number for the 2018 fuel pump with the 2017 (which I have) they are the same. The recall is about a "too thin/not dense enough" impeller that fails on the fuel pump stopping the car. I hope it is a bad batch of impellers they have identified for the 2018 and later years RDX. There are some 2017 models identified in the recall, just not the RDX.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is recalling certain 2017-2020 model year Acura vehicles. The fuel pump impeller was improperly moulded, resulting in low density impellers. Over time, the low-density impeller can deform and interfere with the fuel pump body, rendering the fuel pump inoperative.
Registered owners of all affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and asked to take their vehicle to an authorized Acura dealer. The dealer will replace the fuel pump module with an improved part. Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense may be eligible for reimbursement, in accord with the recall reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA. For additional questions, owners may contact American Honda's Customer Support & Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138.
