First Failure @ 48K
Earlier this month we were on a 2,600 mile trip to Groton. CT, Mystic CT. Bar Harbor. MA Mt Washington,NH. Stow VT and Gettysburg. PA.
During the leg from Stow VT to Gettysburg PA we had an early Christmas as the dash lit up and the MID stated that I had a failure in the parking brake system and other systems as well. All this was occurring at 75MPH and after a quick Functional sys check I hit the blue button and was rather surprised to have a quick reply, asking me for authentication and then stated he could see what I was seeing on my dash. The Tech asked if I needed a recovery vehicle to be dispatched, and I asked him where the closest Acura dealer was located, he replied Syracuse NY, that was a 120 miles from my location and that I felt safe enough to deviate my trip to the dealer but asked him if he would notify them of my arrival at 1:30 pm.
Upon arrival at the dealer they took me right in and provided me with a MDX and directions to the closest mall.
After about an hour they called me to let me know the results of the diagnostics. The problem was an Oxygen Sensor for which they did not have available but were able to clean the one installed and sent us on our way, warning that the Christmas in July would show up again, they provided a PN for the sensor and I called my local dealer and they put it on order and had it available by their COB.
After my local dealer replaced the Sensor, all has been quiet on the dash.
Because of the failure I went ahead and extended my warranty to 100K, as we have another 6200 mile trip coming up in August..
To sum up the above, I cannot say enough of Acura in the way they handled my problem with precision, and gracious attitude, it really made me happy to be driving their product.
Very comforting to know Acura is there on the other end..
Their always comes a time when your in the middle of no-where and you think of the "What If" scenario... Don't you love it when a plan comes together!!!!

2020 Acura RLX Advance
I have had 3 Acura's and have driven a total of 360k plus miles on them (2 RL's, 1 CL-S)
In February of 2007 at 10:00pm at night I hit a massive pothole and blew 2 tires. I pressed the OnStar button on my 2003 CL-S and OnStar contacted Acura Roadside for me. Acura Roadside dispatched a flat bed, called my servicing dealer (who runs a 7 day a week service operation that is open until midnight Mon-Fri). The flatbed got me in 20 minutes and when we arrived at Pohanka Acura they had one of their (65) loaner Acuras waiting for me (and warmed up).
Stellar seamless teamwork between Acura and a dealer who has a world class service team. Something I have never forgotten or taken for granted.

Not one time since 1986 when I started purchasing Acura models and likely more than 800,000 miles driven have I ever called for a tow truck or needed any assistance with any Acura product I have owned. Enough said.

Same here, only since 2001 and in the neighborhood of 140,000 miles for me. But it's good to know they've got your back in the rare instance that you do break down.

Funny thing...I didn't have to pay for it. I was way over the short Honda warranty, but they said it was a known issue and Honda paid for the part and labor, and cited that the particular part that they'd been using wasn't living up to their expectations...so they covered it.
The only time I have ever had to use an "extended warranty" an Acura dealer up and volunteered just short of 100,000 miles to replace the rear hatch struts on an '00 ITR when it was being used as a track car that was still able to go on the road.
Pretty good service, really.

^^This has been my long experience with Honda and Acura. If something goes bad and it's clearly a premature failure, they will cover it, regardless of warranty status. But it's happened so rarely, it's almost inconsequential. The only instance that stands out was the A/C clutch on an Accord we had in the 90s, I think. Out of warranty, Honda fixed it at no cost. No more failure.
Contrast this with a friend's Audi that started ejecting expensive shrapnel from under the hood. The company declined to fix it. But he later found out it was a common problem on the car, and eventually convinced them kicking and screaming to reimburse his $3K+ repair bill.

My wife's '94 (I think) Accord blew out an engine 10K miles after warranty (threw a piston, don't remember exactly) and, because I could show all required maintenance and my dealer went to bat for us, Honda rebuilt the engine. I was very impressed and financially ($5K as I recall) relieved.
I have been buying Acura since 1988 (my wife starting more recently), and neither of us has ever had a breakdown with any of our eight Acuras, although I have blown out a few tires and bent a couple of rims (which I guess I can't blame on the car). They just keep going. And when things have broken, as they do occasionally, my dealership and the company have always taken very good care of me. Hard to imagine switching brands after that level of reliability and service. I guess that's why I was willing to wait so long for the SH-AWD.

Ur lucky. Anything can fail, and a faulty alternator (which I experienced) will take down any car, no matter how well it's made. We needed a tow for sure!
