Brake pedal squeak
Anyone experience a faint squeak sound whenever the brake pedal is depressed? This is an in-cabin sound coming from the actual pedal (ie. not coming from the brakes, calipers, rotors etc)
If I push lightly on the brake pedal, I hear an immediate squeak noise. It's just one squeak as the pedal is depressed, not a constant one. But if I take my foot off the pedal and just lightly press down again, it will happen again every time. Just wondering if this is normal or something that can be corrected. I've read online that people just spray WD40 behind the pedal and that solves the issue - but that was not an RLX-specific fix.

So I had my car in for service this week and had them look into the faint squeaking sound from the brake pedal. My pedal also makes a click sound when the pedal is depressed.
They lubricated all the moving components and said there isn't much else they can do. Bottom line, the squeak and clicking noise is still present.
Can SH owners please let me know if their brake pedal makes any noise whatever when the pedal is depressed? What happens if you're say at a red light and your foot is depressed on the pedal in drive and you gently pump the brakes by lifting up and down (without the car moving)? Mine will make a squeaking and clicking noise.
I always get that it's operating normally and they don't have a test vehicle to compare against because of the rarity of the car...

If lubrication of the moving parts of the pedal do not stop the noise, perhaps it would be of value to drain the master cylinder and refill (or flush the system somewhat to get fresh fluid in the master cylinder). It is bolted to the firewall, and the piston driving the master cylinder is directly attached to the brake pedal so master cylinder noise can be directly transmitted in to the cabin..
It could be wear/gaskets in that master cylinder.
Or could be that a bellows seal around that actuator rod (if there is one) to the master cylinder needs some more direct TLC, since it would rub across the actuator rod as it moves.

Since there really isn't a fix, I don't want to listen for the squeak for my 18 RLX SH because I won't be able to un-hear it (keep Krell volume +10). Ignorance is bliss!

I always keep an option in the back of my head for the issues like these: Carmax is not too far to get rid of it if it became same shitty quality like other appliance cars that make noises, squeaks and squeals "BY DESIGN" ...
