Auto High Beam

I notice my RLX auto high beam engages much more frequently than my wife's MDX. Driving down long dark stretch side street by our house, I was surprise to see the RLX turned on high beam. Of the 3 years owing the MDX, it has never done that. I only get the MDX to engage high beam when exiting a long dark freeway off-ramp. Are both cars programmed differently? Seems like the RLX engages at any speed while the MDX only at higher speed. Is there somewhere in the menu I can adjust as to how often auto high beam engages on the RLX?

If I forget to turn off the RLX auto high beams, I've seen them turn on leaving my house at night at 15-20 mph compared to +30 mph in my MDX. I have an issue in both vehicles of the Auto high beams turn on and it is hit or miss to turn it off using either push forward for click or pull back and flash technique. I haven't seen any setting for either vehicle for setting sensitivity for the auto high beams.

I think there is a way to disable the auto headlights 100% and go manual. I might do that if the quick method still acts a little finicky.

RLX sits lower than the MDX. If I am not mistaken, the sensor is located behind the rear view mirror. I would think the lower the sensor on the vehicle, the more likely for light emitted from other vehicles to be picked up.

No way to set sensitivity. As for on/off of the feature, see the Owner's Manual.....

Normally, I turned this feature off. I hate on-coming traffic with high beam on. So, I only use it to tell the inconsiderate slow blockers to move aside:P

I never got this to work to my satisfaction on my MDX so shut it off. When my wife got her RLX and it did the first auto high-beam she pulled over and had me turn it off before she'd drive any further :-)
