Apple iPhone 12 problem
Apple iPhone 12 problem
I sold my '16 RLX Hybrid to my sister last fall. She loves the car, but told me that she recently upgraded her smartphone to an Apple iPhone 12. Her previously Apple iPhone worked perfectly with the RLX, pairing, syncing, etc. No Apple Car Play on the '16 RLX, but that's never been a bother to her. Anyway, she was just at the Acura Dealer getting a State inspection done when she told the Service Manager that her new iPhone 12 does not "read" her texts to her anymore. Her previous iPhone would read her texts to her when she was moving. All she had to do was push the center button to listen to her texts.
No one at the Dealership could accomplish this simple task. The un-paired and re-paired the phone numerous times. Also, the Service Manager paired his iPhone 11, and it worked perfectly.
Anyone know of a problem Acura is having with iPhone 12's and the older RLX operating system?
Thank you in advance.

With some iOS updates I have lost this feature in my 2015 SH and the cause was the notifications were turned off in my Bluetooth on my iPhone. Have her check her Bluetooth settings by checking Settings>Bluetooth and then click the i (information) icon beside HandsFreeLink. The “Show Notifications” setting should be activated. If not, turn it on and test.
The other fix if that doesn’t solve the problem is to turn the car on and delete the phone from the Bluetooth list in the car and then turn the car off. Then delete the HandsFreeLink in the phone’s Bluetooth list and do a reboot of the phone.
Finally, turn on the car and connect the phone anew. This has always fixed any connectivity issues I’ve experienced but I don’t have an iPhone 12. I’m currently using an 11 Pro Max and most other gens prior to that.

This worked for me with my Apple iPhone 12 on the latest operating system. I never knew this feature was even there. And I had a '16 Hybrid before this!!!
