Apple iOS 8.1.3 with voice recognition

I upgraded my iPhone 4s to iOS 8.1.3 and have started having problems with the car voice recognition. When I tell it to "call by name" I get the message that "voice recognition is not available for this phone". I can answer incoming calls, use my iPhone to physically place a call using the car speaker system. My wife has the iPhone 5 and has the same problem since I upgraded her phone with her car which is not an Acura. It does not happen all the time. Sometime it works ok, then sometime I get the message. I have delete the phone told Bluetooth to forget it and re paired it but the problem persist. I am just curious if others are experiencing this problem. I had no problems with the voice recognition prior to this upgrade.

You may be at a point of technology surpassing your model 4s. Apple has had many upgrades since the 5c was released and were almost ready for the model i7.
