I brought a 2015 RLX Advance in Sept 2014. I looked at the door and saw it was built in 07/14. I believe that the last four digit in the vin represent the number of cars built. My last four numbers are 0515. So does that mean it the 515 2015 built? I notice most of the folks on this forum have a 2014 so I am also curious about hearing from those that have a 2015. My dealer said that my 2015 is only one they received and they got it from another dealer. Also I have been trying to figure out if there any real difference between the 2015 and 2014. It appears to me the only different is a heated steering wheel.

 

The last 4 digits indicate that your car was the 515th one built. It doesn't have anything to do with the total number, other than there were 514 other RLXs built before yours was. The door sticker doesn't tell you the total number built, only how many had been built before yours.

 

Does your statement mean that there are 514 2015 RLXs built before mine or does it mean 514 RLXs 2014 and 2015 built before mine this year?

 

The numbering is for each year. Somebody else has a 2014 RLX which has a number of 515.

 

Are you sure about this Vin number sequence? My 2004 RL vin ends in 7844...I have a hard time believing that they built 7,843 RL's in 2004.....are you sure about this?

 

I am not sure, I read in another post on this forum. If mine is number 515 boy they must be hiding the others, I know from talking with my dealer they have had only one 2015 so far this year and that the one they sold me. They got mine from another dealer as it came off the boat in Miami Fl.

 

I would think TOTAL production built is that number which could include several years as the case with my 1st generation RL being the last of an 8 year production run. 7,8XX would make more sense but not for one year.....
