AcuraLink Recent Performance

Is it just me, or has AcuraLink basically sucked recently?

The last time I tried to get directions to an airport terminal, they sent me out onto a runway. That was fun.

After that, I was trying to get somewhere and the CSR said I'd have to try back in a couple of hours, because the system was down.

Last night, they tried to send me to a location that was 25 miles from where I was trying to go. Different city altogether from the one I specified.

And the accents are getting atrocious. Barely understandable in the best cellular conditions, and we all know that AcuraLink cellular performance can be a lot less than the best.

My subscription goes on until 11/01/2019, and I doubt I'd have the gumption to call and try to get a refund, but, my goodness, I'm sure thinking about it.

That doesn't sound good at all. I started using the app on my phone and sometimes it gives me an error.

I just use Google Maps on my smartphone. I never used AcuraLink on my RLX as using the phone was easier than calling the Acuralink concierge. I haven’t paid for it on my TLX, either, though that’s largely because of Apple CarPlay. +1 on needing people who are better understandable.

If I installed anything that said Google, I'd get a call from somebody within a couple of hours.

No Google. :-)

Maybe in a couple of years.

What could he possibly mean? Is someone from Apple monitoring his phone? Are his children telling him Google is evil?

It is the black suit people from inside the beltway in Washington DC who do not have a sense of humor. Some of them are out of work at the moment.

I had a similar experience when my wife got a flat and the Acura Customer Service people were useless. After an hour of her frustrations, my wife called me and told me what happened. Of course I asked why she did not want to call me before the Acura morons, but she knew I was in a meeting at that time. I called a tow truck and they were there in 10 minutes. 30 minutes later she was home after dropping the MDX at the tire shop. The Acura people were still working on finding a tow company to send to her. 2 hours later after she was already home, they called to say that someone was on the way! 3.5 hours to get a tow truck on the way to a customer is unacceptable. At least the tow is being reimbursed under warranty. Not impressed!

Yowza. Good thing I pay for AAA. It’s come in handy a few times, and they typically don’t take long around here.
