The 2021 Honda Legend
#2
What does it matter? Unless you live in Japan, you can’t buy one, and even if you do live there they only made 100 and it was priced at $102K. I can think of a lot of other cars I would rather have for that much money.

Looks like even Japan has put zero updates into the 14-21 RLX/Legend other than playing around with Level 3 tech. If they kill the Legend there will mean the RLX will be gone for while in the North American markets.

I see a few updates. For 1, an entirely different gauge cluster. Looks like live TFT like Audi. Also, different front and rear bumpers. like @fiatlux said, only 100 will be sold. I absolutely love the front and rear bumpers. They make the car look more aggressive. The inclusion of Autonomous Driving L3 is huge but I'm sure it'll never pass U.S. regulations at it is. Audi made an attempt and it never took off. I guess my whole reason for regret is the "current" discontinuation of the Legend/RLX. Seeing this model rekindles my desire to watch how the car would progress. Also, as long as we're a brand polarized country, we'll never truly appreciate the offerings and achievements of different car brands. The U.S. (more than most), is so fixated on brand name per implied value that we skip over true innovation and quality simply because it's a "Honda" or "Hyundai". Lexus spent as much time, money and effort as possible to separate themselves from Toyota to engineer their brand as bespoke luxury, and it's worked for the most part. Honda/Acura didn't commit as much effort so when you ask a U.S. customer to spend $70+ on an Acura, the general population cringes and says "I'd rather spend that much money on an X brand car". Such is our society.

What he said. I'll take my 2018 SH without all that magic for $49K thanks.

The RLX was discontinued for North America; but, it still might be available in Japan for now. Seems like the RLX is an executive car driven with or without a chauffeur. The Japanese Honda Legend has a trunk close button, electronic climate/radio controls on the 2nd row arm rest, and the ability to move the passenger seat up/back from the 2nd row. I don't follow the Japanese auto market at all. Not sure if they are SUV/CUV crazy like North America or not. I don't know if the Civic, Accord, ILX, or TLX sedans or variants are available like the Legend? I can see Honda them keeping the big girl around longer because the Honda Legend seems to be the only vehicle to compete with Lexus/Infinity, USA, Korean, or other European brands locally.
