2017 RLX Sport Hybrid Advance Purchase Complete
So I signed papers earlier today on the replacement for my 2016 RLX Sport Hybrid Advance that I totaled back in October. I've been waiting for the 2017 model and a half a dozen showed up online last week so I made an internet inquiry and got an even better deal than what I paid for my 2016. Car will be shipped to me here in Houston next week. Besides the car I got wheel locks, splash guards, all weather mats and all weather trunk tray for barely over $60,000. I'm happy with that deal and can't wait to put my antique 2004 MDX back in storage!

Congrats.... it's still the best out there..... I have not seen any others out there that can compete with RLX SHAWD.... Love the exclusivity, like long kept secrets

hondamore...I'm only able to buy another one because of the safety systems in this car. I remember waking up in the car once after the accident and feeling like I was in a capsule...the air bags all around me did the job they were designed for. I read the police report on the accident for the first time this past week and learned that the Houston Fire Department had to cut me out of the car. Needless to say it was not a hard decision to buy another one.

That is quite the testimonial. Good you survived and congrats on the new SH. I believe you are the first 2017 owner in the forum. I find it difficult to believe my 2016 SH is now over 18 months old and each time I get in and drive, I feel like I am in a new car. For all that the RLX is dismissed, the SH is a gem and marvel that is completely overlooked. Hence, the great pricing.

Like everyone else before me, Congrats on your 2017 SH! I wish you many safe and happy miles!
Safety is one of the main reasons I keep buying Honda-Acuras.......
My 2014 MDX (22,000 miles), and my 2016 RLX (15,000 miles) have been rock solid!
My 2016 just turned one year old, and like Tampa I feel like I am in anew car every time I get in it.

This. I'd like to know if there are subtleties between 2016 and 2017. I'm in full decision mode as my lease ends in a few months.

Just sat in a 2017 Advance at our auto show yesterday. Still a beautiful, understated car. Very comfortable, and to my eye, the interior quality, fit and finish were the equal (or more) of any of the high-end cars I sat in at the show. Congrats to all you owners. You have fantastic cars.

Regarding differences in 2016 versus 2017; I purchased a model year 2016 SH-AWD Hybrid with Advance package on December 30th. It had 16 miles on it before my 30 mile test drive. The dealer had taken possession of it on December 7th. Based on the research I did at the dealership and online, there are no difference is MY16 and MY17 except that the Technology package is now standard base trim on all RLX's. And the price changed slightly. The MSRP of my car was $66,890. The 2017 is same trim is .... $66,900. Ten dollars more. But there is no question a model year 17 is preferable to model year 16 with similar mileage. However , with the big currency run-up in value of the dollar (USD) versus most foreign currencies including the Japanese Yen in the second half of 2016, I would believe that the strong incentives and price breaks will continue in 2017. Nobody is paying anywhere near MSRP. Like OP, I got my car with a long list of no-charge add-on's including premium tint, wheel locks, body-side protective molding, all-weather mats, door edge and trunk sill appliqués, cargo net, and was still many thousands of dollars below retail. In hind-sight I should have asked for another key fob .... if you are in the market be sure to hold an extra key fob out as the deal-closer! Remarkably, the dealer also swapped out the Hybrid brushed aluminum wheels on my car for the painted grey PAWS wheels that were on another new '17 RLX on the lot ... which I preferred on my grey RLX.

My car was delivered last evening...little delay getting it transported. My 15 year old son pushed me on the differences today...I told him there is only one difference that I can tell so far...one was a 2016 and the new one is a 2017. It came with 8 miles on it and I put about 50 miles on it today running around Houston. If I don't post just know I'm enjoying the car...if I come across any differences I will post. Suffice to say I'm very happy to be back in the car!

All I have read indicates there is no difference or change in the 2017 RLX SH vs the 2016 MY. It would be curious if you did find a difference, as subtle as it might be. When you get a chance, check the flash version of your Infotainment system. Perhaps they have updated that software.

Just got the body side molding installed today and the windows tinted. I wanted the tinting done in Houston since I wasn't sure the state of purchase was allowed to tint as dark as Texas. The only other thing I'm waiting on is a spare tire kit...I got loaded on a flatbed tow truck twice with my 2016 RLX Hybrid in the 14 months I drove it. Those low profile tires do not like any abuse at all! All of that to say I'm ready to shoot some pics but it got dark...but honestly if you have seen a 2016 you have seen a 2017!

You know I wondered why in the world do you have to buy a spare tire kit in a expensive car. I ordered a spare tire kit myself after realizing there is no spare in there. What is a little air compressor suppose to do if your tire completely blows out?

Thanks Lonestar. Indeed you have a newer version of software in your RLX. Keep you eye open to changes or improvements in the infotainment system and let us know any difference you experience. This is the software version in my 2016 RLX SH.

Thanks pgeorg! I have not updated my database as I saw no new map updates in my area (likely POIs updated). Did you notice any functional changes or performance changes after updating with the brown dic?

Did not see much of a difference, aside from the interface being a little faster (I think)......
It did create one bug though:
When you have the Navigation and the power distribution sharing the screen, sometimes the navigation does not seem to know that it has only half the screen and the car tracking is obscured by the power distribution screen.....

Thanks for the heads up. I think I will pass and re-assess when the next DVD update becomes available. If it ain't broke - don't fix it. Besides the brown disc is currently sold out!

I would have don't the same thing, if I knew:-).
I think they are having some kind of problem, because they are sold out for the MDX also......
They had to send me a replacement disk, because it would not read the second disk.

Here is the bug that I mentioned, it shows up every couple of weeks. It goes away after I restart the car.
