Rim width?

Hi, what is the widest rim that could fit the RDX without any modifications, 17x 10? 17x10.5 what about a 16x10.5? I know 16s may look funny or odd but I’m thinking of handling and weight of the wheels. I tried to ask the same question on the MDX forum but there is absolutely no traffic there and I got no answer to my question.

10" is a seriously wide wheel for something in this class, and unless you really go for the stretched tire look, I'm not sure why you want to go that wide. Will 17" wheels even clear the brakes, let alone 16"? And if so, can you find a 17" x 10" wheel with the proper fitment? Seems unlikely. And what tires do you plan to use? Sorry, I have more questions than answers. I don't think I'll be the only one.

Theoretically, 10" isn't too wide for a 19" or 20" diameter wheel. The A-Spec's standard 20" tires are 10" wide after all. Tire Rack will do detailed measurements as soon as they can get their hands on an RDX, but they won't have any wheels smaller than 18" or wider than 9".

Tire Width On 19" Stock Advance

I'm looking at the Advance model this fall and I'm finding pros and cons regarding swapping the tires. I'm a fan of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+, but the closest size I can find, without new wheels, is 245/50/19. Would there be an issue fitting this on the stock wheel?

18's would be the sweet spot...
i'm sure you could fit 18x10 as it's an SUV...and has wide wheel arcs and isnt lowered.

They are 2.1% smaller in diameter than stock.
There are really no Pilot Sport A/S 3+ sizes that match exactly. This would be closest.

A high-performance tire in the stock size is the Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season Plus. It's new and not yet rated but, by the Fall, it should be.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of the new Pirelli tire. I'll keep a watch on that one.

It would fit, but you'd lose about a quarter of an inch of sidewall. Your speedometer would read high, too, by about 1.5 mph at 75. 255/50/19 would get you closer to the calibrated diameter, but as you're probably aware, the AS 3+ isn't available in that size. Personally, I'd go with the 255's in a different tire rather than sacrifice the sidewall.

Sorry to bring up an old post, but the reason why I would want some 17's x10 is t have the wider look and a little bit more handing compared to the stock 19x8.
