re: TPMS
Hello All,
I have purchased snows+rim and added cloned tpms sensors. Seems the vehicle is picking up signals from both the all season and winter sets which are conflicting/confusing the monitor system. The all seasons are in the garage, and we park out front so there's like a 30-ish meter distance apart from the all season tires to the vehicle.
Does anyone know of a way to block/dampen the signals from the tires in the garage?

I've always been under the impression that you don't need to "block" a TPMS sensor on tires in storage because they are designed to go dormant when not in use, thus saving the battery power. To test this tuck them away in some place where they aren't moved and see if your vehicle then only sees the "active" set of tires.
I have them up on a rack that I made years ago. It's got 2 sets of tires on it so movement shouldn't be too bad.
So far the readings have leveled out where it's showing a constant value for the 4 tires. 35.35.36.37. I'll check the reading on the tires after I get a replacement gauge.
Thanks for the input.

I'm not of much help but I do store my 2nd set close to my car and have never had this problem - I've even had my second set sitting a few feet away from the car in the garage for weeks at a time and the car has never been confused by which sensors to read off of. When I do a swap the car picks up the new ones after I drive a few hundred feet and it's always stayed connected till the next swap.
Are you certain it's picking up the other tires?

Guys, as I said earlier the TPMS devices are designed to go dormant if the tires are not moved, on or off the car. Think about it, there are 8760 hours in a year. If they were on continuously they would not have the typical life of 5 to 10 years. Also, 100,000 miles of driving at 35 mph is 2860 hours. It makes total sense that they shut off when tire motion ceases.
