Rear rattle

Hello,

I have been having a rear rattle for the past few months, worst with temperature changes. I brought it up to the dealer and they could not reproduce it but I have attached a link of the video if anyone has a similar problem or solution. It is not the license plate as I have screwed all 4 screws tight. The sound is present with driving and not present when stopped or smooth roads. Thx in advance.

The link doesn't work, but I think I have what you're describing. It's like an audible metallic rattle in the back when you go over rough roads? I have a dealer appointment next week and the service advisor said something about taking the door off to fix?? This is one of about 9 different rattles and ticks I have so far. I forgot how rattle prone Honda/Acuras are...

Sorry first time posting and had mp4 file that wouldn't upload onto post. Please let me know what they find and maybe my dealer can fix it. Yes it is like a metal rattle on plastic noise. Also any other way to post my video?

I had something that sounded similar but seemed to be coming from higher up, i.e. sunroof area. It turned out to be the lid that covers the storage cavity thing in the rear hatch area. It was rattling on its rubber bumper seats and then reflecting to the roof. Try driving with the lid opened just to see if it stops.

Burger Steak Eggs- Thanks for the tip, I tried to drive with lid open and seemed to lessen noise. Seems it is also the cargo tray thats rattling. What did dealer do to fix it? Thanks

It sounds like your case is still different than mine. Lifting the lid didn't just lessen the noise for me, it stopped completely. To allow closing the lid without restoring the noise, I put a little touch of black silicone on each rubber bumper and let it dry before closing the lid.

Hey jellis757,

I didn't get your msg as it said my box was full but wondering what dealer ended up fixing? Thanks again.

Miraculously, my rattle went away for some reason. I have no idea why, but I haven't heard it for over a week after driving around with it for two months in both hot and cold weather. I was able to listen to your rattle and mind was definitely more metallic like loose nut or something. I didn't bring it up to my local dealer because they mentioned taking the rear hatch off to fix it and I didn't want to jinx it. But I recommend taking yours in and letting them listen to your rattle and/or take your advisor on a test drive.
