I am the original owner of 2019 RDX Platinum. I recently tried to activate the parking sensors and the system displayed a message that the parking Control was inoperable, I have inspected all the sensors around the vehicle and there is no visual damage to any of them. I did have a dealer trailer hitch installed shortly after the vehicle was purchased that was apparently very complex. I am wondering if there is a possibility that during the hitch installation a parking sensor harness may have been disconnected and perhaps not re-connected?

In any event I am hesitant to take it to the dealer because this may turn into a service bill without proper diagnosis. Is there a particular scanner that I may be able to purchase at a reasonable cost that could indicate the cause of the parking system failure?
