2016 RDX parking sensor

I'll try here since posting in problem forum got no bites. Sitting at a stop light my parking sensor went off and lit up on the dash and the button for it was blinking. I shut it off, turned it back on and same thing. I suspect after couple inches of slush and dirty roads now that it may just be a dirty sensor. Not had a chance to clean it yet since I have been on duty at the fire station since but just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

Here is the 16 RDX Back-up Sensor user Info: RDX Backup Sensors User's information Manual

Pages 13-15 talk about cleaning and troubleshooting beep codes to determine the emitter(s) that is/are faulty.

Wow, thanks for the info and taking the time to post that. Never seen it before so mind telling me where you found that? I am not quite sure if this is my problem or not but I am going out now to clean all the sensors. I assumed my issue is the font sensors but they did not look to dirty. I get the beeping and warning message on my instrument panel saying parking sensor malfunction. Again thanks for the info!

After the first snow a few weeks ago my collision warning system wouldn't shut up until the engine bay warmed up and melted off the ice

I have OEM installed rear parking sensors on my MDX I can turn up/down/off. Can you turn off or turn down the sound if the bad sensor audio alarm starts to bug you?

Keep us posted. Curious to see if you need a new sensor and it takes as long as mine is to come in. Over two months for a part is ridiculous

My right front sensor started going off. It would stop if I put it in park. Scheduled an appointment with dealer. Then it stopped. Dealer says it can't trace a problem of this type if it's not behaving that way when I bring it in. Is there a chance some of these systems do a re-set during the re-booting that occurs when the car is turned off and then on?

My front parking sensors don't work - had the car in the dealership 3 times!! Have been waiting almost three months for the part! If there are this many problems with them - why isn't there a recall???

Recalls are only made for safety related items. For example the possibility of a sticking accelerator, or a headlight switch that might overheat and start a fire. Owners need to bring their vehicles in "BEFORE" the problem arises.

The parking sensors are only to assist you in parking. If they fail to operate it is unlikely anyone will be harmed.

Manufactures create TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins) for items that commonly fail. Some people have the false impression that if a TSB is issued, then it should be performed on their vehicle. A TSB is just a list of instructions for a mechanic so that he can save time solving common problems. If your vehicle doesn't have the problem, then the TSB doesn't need to be performed.

With regards to the parking sensors, I also had the intermittent false alarm for a one week period. It stopped by itself and they have been working properly ever since.

It's hard to say if this problem is common enough for a TSB to be issued yet. Yours seems to be the first complaint of total failure that I have seen on these forums.

The RDX was dropped off on Wednesday for the parking and rain sensor issues. I went to pick it up on Friday and the parking sensor error was still there and I had to leave it over night again for system reset and complete check-up.

I picked it up on Saturday. Everything seems to be working well.

According to the work order parking sensor assembly and rain sensor plus silicon sheet were replaced. There is no parts issue in Toronto. The parts were ordered and received on the same day. The installation and QA was not as good as it should be.

I was given a brand new TLX loaner for three day. As long as my RDX problems are resolved I am Okay.

Well, got my sensor fixed today. Took it in back in mid December and part just arrived. I did get an apology from the tech and he reassured me there was no reason why a part would take more than 4 days and someone dropped the ball. Anyway, it's fixed and I also had a brand new RDX loaner to drive for the day
