I have the 2019 RDX Advance. Some time ago at 2700 in mileage, I observed an Orange Wrench idiot light appear in the instrument cluster display. I took it to mean that there was a maintenance issue although I could find no reference to an orange wrench in any Acura literature. I took the car in to my dealer and was shown a very dark engine oil on the dipstick. I was asked if I had been "aggressively driving" the vehicle. Answer: "no". The dealer performed their "first no charge oil change" and i was sent on my way with no other comment.
Questions: 1), has any other RDX owner had this early dark oil problem and
2), has anyone ever had the mysterious orange wrench appear?
Then why the Orange Wrench and what if the oil is as black as coal?
Do you have the full owners manual for the vehicle? If not, you need it. The pdf version is available in the section above the general discussions. This light, as are all warning lights, is identified in the manual. The wrench tells you when maintenance is due.
I DO have the owner's manual but evidently it is incomplete. Shown here are the three pages from the manual rec'd with the vehicle - no wrench! I wonder what else is missing. I assume the PDF version is a work in progress. Acura seems to not catch up to their own technology.
There's this amazing thing called a computer where you could store your PDF and access it accordingly with the ability to search no need to print it out
This has been a common practice with Acura for a while. We have a 2016 RDX Advance and similarly only got a few printed pages. If I remember correctly there may have been a CD version of the owner's manual in the glove box (I don't honestly remember). What I do remember is going on line and ordering free printed copies of all manuals from Acura.

Unfortunately, my computer won't fit in the glove compartment as well.

Thanks, I appreciate your comment. I'l check with my dealer.
You may be right, things could certainly have changed, not sure. I just know we bought our RDX used about a year after the in service date and it worked for us. At the time, the only thing that mattered was whether a set of manuals had been requested against the VIN previously. Since then (2017) there may have been a time fence put in place as well.

Yeah, they likely aren't sticklers for enforcing the free period. It's not worth the customer "bad will". "I just paid $43k for a new Acura..." Hey, I'd bark too.
Thanks all.
FWIW: I simply did it the easy way and Googled "Acura RDX owner's manual 2019". Now I should be able to download it to a disc or memory card (OR order a hard copy). Should be able to be done with other models as well. As with all things digital, it is always a work in progress.

Even though I have the hard copy in the glove box, I have the pdf on my phone and use that most often. (Word search)
I can tell you how dumb Acura can be with manuals. As a prior posting mentioned the 2016 MDX came with a manual on a CD. The CD was not playable in the car’s CD player. So when you needed the manual you were out of luck unless you had loaded the CD on a computer and copied the manual first. Really dumb!
In terms of the CD - you are right it's not playable / usable in the RDX itself. In fact I went out to the garage and wanted to see if I was remembering correctly and guess what I found??
And it says right on the CD, "Not for in-vehicle use."
