Maintenance Code A7 (Brake Fluid Flush)

Hi Everyone,

Maintenance minder code of A7 popped up on my 2019 RDX. I looked this up online and it's for oil change and brake fluid flush. I had the car for about 2.5 years so I guess brake fluid flush is due. I called my local Acura dealer and they want $150 for the brake fluid flush. I called local Meineke shop and they quoted $90. Is it necessary to get the flush done at Acura dealer? Or it should be fine going to Meineke or other repair shops that are not related to Acura? Thank you.

I think my dealer actually wanted $300 for the brake fluid flush.
Nevertheless, as long as my car is covered by warranty, I won’t go to another shop except for tires.

I have an irrational mistrust of Meineke, Midas, Sears, Goodyear, and Firestone. I would consider PepBoys or an independent after the warranty expires. Until then, I’ll spend the extra for dealer service.

$150 does NOT sound unreasonable. I had my Accord's Brake fluid flushed several months ago and it was $140. I agree with Catbert430 As long as you are under warranty, stay with the Dealer.

$150 is very reasonable, cheap out and you may end up paying in the long term

I'm sorry but why would going to independent shops void warranty? I go to local auto shop to get oil change all the time. Also, does it matter that I'm leasing the car?

None of the posts say anything about voiding the warranty.
It is possible, however, that a manufacturer can ask for receipts to prove that maintenance has been performed before authorizing warranty work.
If the maintenance is done at the dealer, they already have their proof.
Buying vs. leasing isn’t a factor.
