Leather seats

Folks, I am concerned about what I am seeing with my drivers side seat. I am already seeing creasing & wrinkling in the leather. And I am seeing a discoloration in the leather around the lower half of the seat back.
i have the greystone leather and the discoloration looks like a darkening.
i need to get out the Lexal and do some cleaning. But I am very sad and concerned about the seat leather.
any thoughts?

Based on my 4+ years with Acura, seems to be par for the course?

I had graystone on my MDX seats but it was a mostly garaged vehicle. Does your car sit outside all the time?

Make sure to also apply conditioner to keep leather lubed, otherwise it will start drying out and will start developing cracks

The leather is vinyl coated. No need for special leather conditioners. They will never touch real leather. Any good vinyl cleaner will be fine. 303 is great for "leather" seats..

Not disputing, but do you have some documentation that the leather is vinyl coated? I know that most leather we use for seating in cars and in homes is color coated, and I have never seen cows in some of the colors I have seen seats. Is the color coat a vinyl of some kind?

Most leather upholstery in American- and Asian-made cars is plastic coated, with a surface layer made of vinyl. If your car is European, on the other hand, it might have “naked” leather, in which case the surface would be that of the original hide with no protective finish.

Not sure which kind of leather is in your car? Find an inconspicuous area where you can apply a tiny droplet of water. If it leaves a spot, the upholstery in your car is not coated.

HOW TO CARE FOR VINYL-COATED LEATHER

The protective, plastic surface of vinyl-coated leather makes it virtually care-free. There’s no need to use a leather conditioner since it won’t be absorbed.

Instead, maintain your car’s seats the same way you would any vinyl upholstery. The best way to do this? After cleaning, use a high-quality protectant to prevent fading, cracking and stains.
