Infotainment screen will not turn off

Last night driving home while using CarPlay my speakers stopped working. I tried unplugging my phone and restarting it, no dice. I tried FM, XM, USB, Bluetooth, nothing was working. It would say check turner.

The heads up display wouldn’t update with the changing navigation directions and the speed limit sign was stuck on 70 MPH

Right now I’m just waiting for the battery to die so Acura can come jump it off. Considering getting a rental car today.

One of the worst cars I’ve ever owned.

I think you can pull the fuse instead of letting you car battery die...or pull the battery cable. Might be better than letting your battery completely die on you.

Have you tried the three finger infotainment system reboot?

It FINALLY turned off 15 hours later. I was not comfortable enough to unplug the battery or pull fuses. The auto start stop system isn’t working now( presumably because the battery isn’t charged very well)

thanks for the video! Learned something for next time (hopefully not)

Be sure that you are running the most recent software version.

It is running the most up to date software! I always update the car when the newest software comes out.

Annoying, but worked for me.

In years of hiccups with updating/upgrading iPhone, I have learned that starting with a "fresh" OS, without restoring from a back up can solve many issues.

This was my case with my update from 1.0.7 to 1.2.2, XM and Navigation where unusable. I reset the infotainment "back to factory".

Fixed everything.

I have to re-add my phone, favorites, home screen and etc.

Run better than ever.

Hope this saves you a trip to the dealership

Same thing happened to my A Spec RDX a couple of weeks ago. It froze and wouldn’t turn off despite shutting off the car. I ended up unplugging the cord to the negative terminal and plugging it back. It reset everything. Was thinking of taking to the dealer but I have a feeling it will be useless as everything works. For most part infortainment works but it’s been glitchy on occasion. Acura needs to come out with a fix.

If your battery is weak already, you might be able to get it replaced under warranty now rather than waiting until you are stranded.
