Engine Radiator Fans Not Turning On

Oooweee, that’s warm!

Well this here has me confused. One day at a stop this car’s temperature just kept going up and up and up until this warning light came on. So I turned the engine off to let it cool down. Next day I was trying to diagnose the car, and I found the problem, the cooling fans were not turning on, but get this - when the A/C is switched on, the fans run perfectly fine, and the car doesn’t overheat. Even via OBDII, both temperature sensors are reporting temperatures properly. But, as soon as the A/C is switched off, and the car will begin to overheat and the fans shut off. I pulled every fuse pertaining to the cooling fans and all the fuses and relays are working as designed. Coolant levels are where they should be, and obviously the coolant pump is working since when the car is on the highway, operating temperatures remain in spec, A/C on or off. I have no idea why the fans are not turning on, any guidance or advice would be much appreciated!

Check your thermostat (in the engine area) as that is likely failing!

Aren’t the fans controlled by a temperature sensor not a thermostat? I ask this because on the highway, the car does not overheat as there is airflow in the radiator, which leads me to believe the pump and thermostat are working fine, but I could be wrong!
